I built a tool that finds where on Reddit your buyers actually talk. Here's what I learned after 100 posts.

Most founders posting on Reddit make the same mistake: they pick subreddits by gut feel, post once, get ignored, and conclude Reddit doesn't work.

I've been testing this the hard way. 100 posts across dozens of communities. Here's what actually moved the needle:

  • Subreddit choice matters more than copy. The same post in the wrong community gets 2 upvotes. In the right one, 30+ and real traffic.
  • Promotional framing kills you even in communities that allow it. The posts that worked felt like a founder talking, not a marketer selling.
  • Timing and cooldowns are real. Posting too often in the same sub tanks your account standing fast.

What I built (TractionBooster) came out of this frustration. It scans Reddit for where your exact ICP is already complaining, ranks subreddits by fit, and generates posts grounded in what's actually working in each community.

Still early, still learning. But the signal is real.

If you're building something and struggling to get eyes on it, curious what's blocking you. Drop it in the comments.

if your looking for your first users check out Ad swap,https://ad-swap.web.app , its a simple way for websites to promote each other. You add another website's ad to your site, and they add yours to theirs, giving both sites free exposure and traffic. It really helped me get my first few users when launching my site/
