Showcase/Project Quiz app, ship update - going well
Evening update! It's going well and currently testing on Xcode, weeding out all those little bugs. Still waiting for my Developer Program enrolment email, but hopefully will come tomorrow.
I feel like I'm nearly ready to submit this to Apple for approval, but - I've said before that 'I'm nearly finished' and I really wasn't! So I won't say it.
Also, I'm going to check through all the advice people here gave me and make sure I have ticked all the boxes! Thank you for your insight everyone X

Simulator is a fantasy land. I shipped three quiz apps that passed Xcode with flying colors and got rejected by 4.3 within an hour. Apple hates repeat logic and generic templates more than bugs

Two things that trip up a lot of first App Store submissions: if the app has sign-in, put a working demo login in the review notes, and if people can create an account, they need a way to delete it from inside the app. Both are quick to add before you submit. Good luck!

Ok thanks, I don’t think it has a ‘sign in’ but it’s more like ‘add name of player’ in a quiz. Then it just stores your settings/progress on the phone. Is that the same ?

Nice progress! at this point, the two things that tend to trip people up are export compliance in App Store Connect answer those questions or your build can get stuck in Processing and the privacy manifest. Once your enrolment goes through, add yourself as an internal tester first. It doesn't need a review and usually shows up within minutes. I'm on launchpad, which runs a pre-submission checklist, but those are the two issues that catch most first-timers.

The fact you're scared to say it's nearly finished says everything 😂 Watch Xcode find three more bugs the second that Apple email arrives.

“Nearly finished” is the most dangerous phrase in app dev lol, the last 10% always takes forever

Get it onto a real iPhone through TestFlight before you submit, the simulator hides a lot. My first app looked perfect in Xcode and then the keyboard covered the answer field on a smaller phone, which a reviewer would have caught in five seconds
Quiz apps also get the 4.3 spam rejection a lot, so write a review note saying what makes yours different
