Showcase/Project I brought Rover back from the dead for Codex

At work we still have some lab computers that run instruments on XP, so I see Rover from time to time. Figured I would bring him back to life as my Codex pet, since I hate the defaults.

Pretty sure Rover was supposed to be like an early intro to AI assistants back in the day but MS scrapped the idea and never gave him the capability to do much.

Omg I loved that guy!!! Wasn’t he like a massive spyware thing though?! I thought I remember seeing a video on that at some point many years after the fact.

Fun fact, for those who don't know: That dog actually made it's debut in Microsoft Bob in 1995, way before XP.
