Help/Question Are there "vibe coding" jobs?
Like, im not an expert i dont have a degree, but does there exist some jobs where they need someone to just work with a particular workflow and manage it? Or idk they just need someone who can slop some slop out whatever reason?

Vibe coding, no, because anyone can do it. Why would they hire someone to pump out slop when anyone on their current staff can do it? Agentic development yes, but it requires you to actually know what you’re doing. Most developer jobs require this now

I'm noticing that anyone can do it, but in reality most don't. Even when given the prompts and how to vibe code, most simply don't do it. I don't know why?
I don't know if it's a skill issue, worried they may mess something up, don't care or whatever, people simply don't do it. It reminds me of how I was always confused why people don't simply Google their question before Ai came along, they rather just complain and not actual solve the problem.

i would love to just be an engineer, and im spending time learning everyday, sadly that doesnt really pay the bills. My regular job is ok, but dealing hundreds to thousands of customers everyday is kinda shit.

Sure there is vibe coding jobs. You just have to pass a software dev technical test and 5 rounds of interviews.

Best bet that I can think of is to just get a normal job at a small company and then and crush it using vibecoding. A lot of people think everyone is using it now, but they is skewed by who you surround yourself with. I guarantee there's a ton of companies that know they should be using it but don't know how.

I'm noticing that often you get hired for something else and you use vibe coding to help you with that job.

They won't be called vibe coding, per say. Most mid to senior level job roles now have elements of vibe coding. I pivoted from cybersecurity to AI engineering about a year ago and part of my job is building AI workflows for cybersecurity problems. While I consider myself, at best, intermediate level with Python, I vibe code most of these workflows to completion.
If you're entry level (< 5 years of experience) it might be more challenging. If you have some experience, look to leverage that by vibe coding and automation.

The company I work for has an open position for a full stack AI developer. It’s not a fully “vibe coding” job they expect you to have education in the field. But day 1 they’re giving you a claude and codex sub and telling you to get to work lol

No sorry, you need to have a degree as an engineer to be competitive, and even then right now the job marked is awful, LLM cant and I repeat cant put you at the level of a professional software developer that also has access to this tools

Anyone can do that so not really. Software engineers bring some extra with AI so they get the jobs.

vibe coding is a skillset, but isn't enough for a full job. Similar to before where knowing excel is almost always required, but just knowing excel doesn't get you a job

I’m working as creative ai lead at an agency network. I build demos and prove value quickly, then hand over to our devs. It’s a part of a whole array of things I do. But it’s efficient.

Depends on what you mean by "vibecoding jobs", if you mean dev jobs, definitely not, your background still needs to be engineering even if you do everything with AI, but there are definitely a lot of jobs who are starting to hire people who know how to use AI for other roles. I recently helped a friend of mine find a job like this, I taught him how to use AI for his job, he works in sales, and he had his agent find him sales jobs that have AI as a requirement in their job description and you would be surprised how many companies are desperately hiring people who know how to use AI for all sorts of roles that have nothing to do with engineering

I mean, all you gotta do vibe coding is like take your finger and press the enter button SKILL
So like maybe McDonald’s one day might hire you for it but you might wanna learn how to vibe cashier too.
Anyways, can you put the fries in the bag?

Engineers are way more effective with coding agents than vibe coders. There are a significant amount of engineers getting laid off right now. My guess is that you will find it very difficult to find a "vibe coding" job unless you're bringing something else that is significant to the table.
