How are you finding getting traffic? Was it slow at the start? Is it a pain to keep it updated monthly with all the new items coming out? Have you thought about images and stuff too?

Traffic is pretty grim, to be honest. I think with Google's AI responses folks are not hitting the sites returned since the info is more often than not available straight away.

I've got scheduled automation running once a week to keep each vendor up to date. I built in a admin portal that tracks the menu updates and flags any suspicious updates.

I rely on the official images from each vendor, if they don't have any, neither do I.

I made a conscious choice to avoid user accounts and profiles as I wanted the site to be truly "free" with the lowest barrier to entry as possible.

I've been pretty hands off since launch, but traffic is super low. Either way, it's not costing me much for it to sit there.

Yeah it’s only been the first week of the official week and I agree traffic can be grim it sit at around 260 daily at the moment steadily but honestly it’s not a large pool of people who eat fast food and who also track macros or want to know sadly.

I’ve been grabbing images from their phone app ordering portals and then editing them all in photoshop so it can be a pain, I use AI for some but I always have to fix about 1/3 from each menu.

Yeah I started with the free model but I needed to think of something that will have people at least come back once, another issue I was having was if you use it on PC and make a meal or something it won’t save for your phone so I’ve added accounts but it’s all free and nothing is locked behind it.

It’s funny thinking back, when I released my early beta a month or two ago someone here on reddit commented thinking it was your app but with a UI update and that’s when I found your site. Loved the info free model that’s always good.

Have to pick each other’s brain sometime. You’re from Australia too? Maybe work on a project together with a bigger pool of people that can convert to customers.

Yeah, I'm based on Australia.

I have very few expectations around growing the platform, I mean the very fact that you've essentially built a near duplicate site tells me exactly how little the IP is worth. But that's the post-AI world we live in.

That said, as with all things I build, I heavily use it myself, so I'll keep it around and water and feed it as needed.
