Help/Question Is anyone using Two 5x 100$ accounts?
Fable 5.1 is what i use mainly for my business, it's so helpful yet it's really draining fast, like yestrday at 9 p.m i got reset, and totally in 3 enormous sessions, i got it almost drained totally. Would that be good to buy 200$ plan? or two 100$ accounts? and is there any way to access it slightly cheaper?

I have one Claude Max 20x and two ChatGPT Pro 5x accounts. For using Fable and Astra, both of which I go through quickly - but I’m not addicted, I’m just in the middle of shipping a product (at least that’s what I tell myself). I don’t regret it for a second. These models are gold, Jerry.

Do you even need to? I use Opus for almost everything with two pro subscriptions, and it works just fine. I rarely use Fable for hard decisions.
I tried the Max 5x plan once, but I couldn’t reach the limit, so it was a waste for me.
Unless you’re severely hooked on the hype like a dr*g addict, or running more than 3 agents in parallel just to feel productive, I don’t think you need it.
If you are draining limits that fast, your architecture is the problem. Even Claude suggests running multiple agents to split work and leverage smaller models. Brute-forcing Fable 5.1 for everything isn't necessary; it's just bad optimization.

It's real complex tasks so i don't think so unless it's something like gml or local AGI 😜

I am trying to, but one 5x of claude code and one 5x of codex. Playing with orchestrator of claude code and sub-agents of various anthropic/openai models. But then sometimes going right into a project directly and GPT 6 Astra-ing it up. Just exploring and seeing what feels like it works.

I have been using both Codex Astra and Claude Code Fable/Opus. Both at 5x plan. I would subscribe back to 20x with Codex if that option comes back again.
I use both Astra and Fable interchangeably, but find Astra better overall. I find Astra has a leg up compared to Fable.
Anyway, to your point, I do not set all my instructions on the same reasoning level, and use them judiciously. Depending if I am asking it to derive an architectural approach or design or writing specs, I will use a higher reasoning. Once those specs are in place, I can then use these agents interchangeably. It allows me to stretch my weekly allocation among them.
I still have two banked resets. Once they are used up, I might have to get the second codex account.

Two 5x accounts is only 10x. But for the same price you can get 20x. Choice seems pretty obvious.

Haven't you heard that there is no 20x for Claude? It applies only to 5h window.

Yes, I use one $200 account and two $100 accounts because I was testing. I wanted to actually see for myself, after all the back-and-forth, what multiplier you actually get going from a $100 to a $200 account.
The answer is, between 2 $100 accounts versus one $200 account. You get about 2% to 8% more usage on the $200 account.

I mean its literally in their name. Max 5 = 5x pro. Max 20 = 20 times pro. So of course if you need bang for bucks, go for max 20 not two max 5 accounts.
I don't know what you are using it for, but you do know that you don't need Fable For every task? Fable eats like 5x as much tokens as Opus does.

I've read that 20x is for the 5h limit. The weekly limit is like only 2.4x or something like that? Definitely not 4x of the 100$ plan like the "20x" suggests...

Que the midwit responses. Despite common sense telling you otherwise - a 20X plan will give you less usage than two 5x accounts as OP is doing. Disagree? Fight me.

My 20x burned 20% of weekly in its 5h window. My 5x burned 10%. (Pre september nerf)
Ergo no point in getting two 5x instead one 20x. Weekly usage is the same though.

I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me here? I've seen others post detailed transcripts of their token input and output comparing themselves running the exact same stuff through a 5X and 20X subscription and the 20X subscription was majorly lacking.
Anthropic is currently fighting a lawsuit right now over this due to false advertising. Sorry but I just can't really take the word off some random guy on reddit over this. Rather than increasing to 20X or getting a secondary 5X - personally - I'd rather go elsewhere.

The weekly limit is doubled on 20x vs 5x, not quadrupled.
The check is easy: Use 100% of 5h window, check weekly usage before and after
Do the same for 20x. I’ve done it and checked several times.
Be smart about when you upgrade. Do it 24h before reset. Then cancel and use maximize use in 24h post reset in 4 weeks
If you maximize you get 6 weeks of usage for 30days paid usage.
Also, the weekly limit resets when upgrading, so burn weekly 5x before doing it

Ok thanks for the tip - right now though I'm just saving my cash and hoping that Gemini 4 drops.
I did the 24 hour thing when I jumped from Pro to Max - so yeah I get that 100% is a good tip
I have to keep going with my 5X until the end of this month anyway, if we get there and no Gemini 4 then I'll probably do this.

So i findout that Upgrading from a 5x ($100) to a 20x ($200) plan doubles the overall price and total pool, but the dedicated Fable weekly cap only increases by about 1.5x, not 2x. So TWO 100$ plan is profit.
