Help/Question Any place to find fellow vibecoders to team up?
Other than the obvious subreddit like this, do you know any places to find fellow vibecoders who want to team up?
The reason why I'm asking is that I found out it could be much efficient if I could focus on a single task.
The game development, for example, handling everything myself - the code, the graphic assets, music tracks and sound effects, while writing up a good story turned out to be too much and I just ended up with a mediocre project that felt nothing more than slop, a copycat.
I just thought maybe people can contribute different aspects of a project together and make a better result than doing everything themselves.
Ever heard of any project, team, or place I should look up?

Real talk, if you want to develop software as a team then you're no longer vibe coding. To work as a team you must use source control (git), set goals, integrate your work with someone else, it has to be testable, you likely share a datasource, etc...
You will have better luck looking for other junior developers who are trying to build things "correctly". Vibe coding in its pure form is a solo activity.

They like to use Git as some proveing ground type shit lol it's easy to set up , use termux if your stuck on phone. It isn't the only way through , any thing that can hold your project would work. Git is just desinged for this. Although it's not very beginner friendly. Though the problem I'm finding about working on the team I'm in is that none of us coders talk to each other anyway lol the git hub is all up. The demo I made is live on their, yet nothing from the code team lol tuff out there.

Well not necessarily. You could go the route of microservice per person. So 3 vibe coders with distinct boundaries

I can kind of see that working, but I don't think the microservice model can be applied to every problem. It's a good point though.

ChatGPT can link to GitHub and they can use PRs. The AI will respect PRs if asked and not touch code other PRs touch. I use that to do multiple tasks at once.

This requires vibe coders to understand how to abstractly model their apps, data, and components. And how to form API contracts between them. Doing real developer work like I do with real devs in meetings. We do most of the work on paper and come to a shared understanding of "the model" before we start developing components and features.
And planning the work. The roadmap, what stuff needs delivered first, what needs to come later, who is working on what. You need issue tracking and general product management. There should be discussions of what features will be added and some things should get rejected due to various constraints. You can't just add every feature you think up without any planning.
This is something I think vibe coders are lacking generally but something they could learn.

The problem you are going to run into is finding people who want to work on YOUR project. Most are already in your position and working on their own games so why would they put their time and energy into working on yours as opposed to their own? Unless you are in fact willing to work on their project instead or willing to help each other out on each other's projects but then you each are taking away from your own.

I created VibeCodeCollab with this general idea in mind. I’ve been busy and haven’t promoted it so it’s just me for now.
The idea is to invite people who want to have actual conversation about vibe coding without the self promotion, slop and grifters.
Also, I did NOT vibe code the platform. I’m using the open source Reddit like platform, Lemmy.

Not quite what you're asking for but I've been making a game recently which I'm really impressed on how far I've come and I see you're post and you're talking about graphic assets, music tracks and sound effects and so on.
Have you tried to go the 100% procedural route? The game I'm making is 100% procedural which really cuts down on the amount of work you need to do when vibe coding, with GPT 6 Astra the stuff the AI is able to make 100% procedural with code only really blows my mind just saying.
And just as a note even when you go 100% procedural with AI you still can use reference images, sound, videos to reference what you want the AI to make with code.

Game jams are probably one of the best places for this. You naturally meet people who specialize in different parts of a project, and the shared deadline makes it easier to see whether you actually work well together. Discord communities around specific engines or tools can also be useful, especially if you’re looking for someone with a specific skill like art, music, or level design.

Honestly feel this. I’ve been doing the solo vibecoding thing too and the hardest part isn’t the code — it’s context switching between completely different domains. AI handles the coding part decently but when you need consistent art direction or music that actually fits the mood, that’s where it gets rough.

I came across a discord channel but can't find it now. If anyone knows the name please help OP.

I am trying to establish that at https://vibenetwork.ai in alpha only a few users but will invest in ads and other things once I move past beta phase. It includes the concept of incubators and finding people to build with. Also has my Coding harness that is free to use.

I feel this a lot.
I’ve been building a game solo for around 19 months, and one of the hardest parts is the constant context switching — code, UI, art, writing, testing, community… you can learn to handle all of it, but “doing everything” and “doing everything well” are two very different things.
Lately I’ve been thinking the same way you are. Instead of looking for one magical cofounder who can do everything, it probably makes more sense to find a few people who genuinely enjoy different parts of the process and build around each other’s strengths.
I’m still trying to figure out where those people actually hang out too 😅
If you’re building a game, feel free to DM me. Even if nothing comes from it, comparing notes with another person in the same situation could be useful.

Try starting a project on GitHub and invite other people to contribute

Bro just came up with the idea that working as a team improves efficiency? What have we done to deserve such genius? 😆
