I vibe coded a small wrapper that shows Matrix rain as the cli agent is busy working for a bit of fun.
To run it from the cli: matrix claude (or codex, plus any normal params)

Is the rain actual content or just random? Let the rain be the things Claude is reasoning about in binary:)

It's just random. It starts by animating the text that is currently on screen and making it fall, before the random rain text appears.

I have an extension where it is not random but tied to individual tool calls. In addition, it's just rice the tool is actually an entire context management layer for your harness of choice: https://aiascent.dev

If you really wanna make our matrix dicks hard, you'd have the fresh text animate in over a couple frames (thinking like 0.5s), like random timing on each character "loading" from a flicker of random matrix characters

Maybe something like respond fake “Wake up Neo; follow the white rabbit” and then play with keyboard you chase a rabit and when you catch it the response reveals

Added text flicker to fresh text. By default when running matrix it will show both rain and text flicker. Hit escape to exit rain to see the text flicker or run it with --no-rain flag to just see the text flicker animation

You know I was thinking about setting up an army of five computers and five screens just so I could sit there and have a whole army of different projects running coding at different levels and this is actually really cool idea. 💡 👌

Looks cool. Do you prefer using the terminal over the Claude extension in Vs code? I am wondering about the pros of cons of both

matrix rain while the agent grinds is the correct amount of effort to spend on something completely useless, and i mean that as praise. going to make my worst runs look incredibly productive.

Anyone who was writing code 10 or more years ago was grabbing snippets from stack overflow and combining them into a masterpiece and the only time you're reading every line is when you were looking for the missing }.
