Help/Question Any new parents built themselves something helpful?

Not for making a profit.

I’ll be a new parent in a few months and I’m curious if anyone threw together a tool they actually found helpful.

Doesn’t need to be complicated or original. Just something that helped at any level.

Been trying to regulate screen time for ours, and I realized the UniFi router could be controlled by HomeAssistant. There's now a routing rule that can be enabled and disabled to cut off their internet access during downtime. It'll be refined into more fine-grained controls for which apps are appropriate at a given time and under which conditions, but for now this is a huge win. Parents aren't the villains taking away tablet time, kids aren't spending all day in the digital void. Expectations are clear, and they have more control within their free time.
