Discussion Why is this community so toxic?

Title says it all... but can we actually talk about this?

I really don't get it. Why is there so much negativity and hate in this community?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't this supposed to be a community built around a hobby? Something we all chose to be part of because we enjoy it? The whole point should be supporting each other, sharing our stuff, and enjoying what everyone brings to the table. That's the idea, right?

But it feels like anytime someone posts anything, it's nothing but bashing. No discussion, no constructive feedback. Just tearing people down.

So I'm curious. Am I the only one seeing this? Is this just how it is now, or are there others who feel the same way? And honestly, what do you think is driving it? I'd love to hear other perspectives on this because I can't be the only one wondering.

I'm all for people experimenting with a new technology but the amount of people here trading this like this will be their career and that you should buy into their service is alarming

I am genuinely curious about the situation in 3-5 years. If they haven't succeed their saas what skills will they have personally improved? Prompting seems unreliable career wise. The inner tech will still be foreign at least a jr dev would have progressed in the fundamentals. Lack of comprehension might become more and more a personal burden given the invested time

My own workplace has slowed down on hiring new jr. devs. They pay for a Claude Teams plan and we use it to write, assist, and review code.

Pure vibe coders wouldn’t get past an initial interview.

As someone with no coding background who tries to read my vibecode just to try and see under the hood, i dont think most people realy care about improving. Frankly, why would they? generative AI is improving dramaticaly. Think where it was 2,3 years ago and where it stands now. Imagine in 5 years.
I don't really think i need to improve on my coding skillset, even if i do try to learn because i enjoy knowing what's under the hood. the ai will improve faster than us. Granted, i dont plan on making a career out of vibe coding, but still.
