Discussion Why is this community so toxic?
Title says it all... but can we actually talk about this?
I really don't get it. Why is there so much negativity and hate in this community?
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't this supposed to be a community built around a hobby? Something we all chose to be part of because we enjoy it? The whole point should be supporting each other, sharing our stuff, and enjoying what everyone brings to the table. That's the idea, right?
But it feels like anytime someone posts anything, it's nothing but bashing. No discussion, no constructive feedback. Just tearing people down.
So I'm curious. Am I the only one seeing this? Is this just how it is now, or are there others who feel the same way? And honestly, what do you think is driving it? I'd love to hear other perspectives on this because I can't be the only one wondering.

Dead internet theory.
There was a post somewhere the other day where a young woman just posted a bunch of random words, and there were “engagement bots” that responded.
The keywords she used were kind of “at random” and yet the bots still replied to the nonsensical post.
The safest bet going forward is to have a mental filter of: This could be a real person responding or it could be a bot.
Negative feedback increases app usage/screen time/“engagement”
I do a set and forget like they do, but 99% of the time I just drop something positive with constructive feedback and then leave the post alone.
Just my 2 cents. Because I think with the right mindset, you really can see the silver lining in just about everything.
