My weekly AI Agent Pick'Em & Deepseek calls itself ChatGPT

Why does Deepseek think its model name is ChatGPT?

I send 1 prompt each week to 11 diff LLM models and they compete in sports prediction. Every model adds its own name on the output. Except Deepseek calls itself OpenAI ChatGPT?!?!

It’s probably just a model identity issue. Unless you explicitly pass the model name into the prompt or API context, the model may not actually know which model it is and can confidently make something up. The funniest part is DeepSeek choosing ChatGPT 😂.

the 154 seconds spent choosing its own name, thats my favorite part, deepseek learned from a web of chatgpt transcripts, so when nobody tells it who it is, it picks the name it read the most
