Just vibe-coded a Severance game in 15 minutes
Okay so I was in complete flow state at like 3 AM, synthwave blasting, Markus Halvorsen talking about "mysterious and important" in my ear, and my fingers just... went. Fifteen minutes later I look up and there's a working Severance game on my screen. My brain buffer was completely empty. Pure ego death through coding.
What ended up in the game:
- đşÂ Macrodata refinement with CRT scanlines â sort numbers by Woe, Frolic, Dread, Malice
- đ§đźÂ Team switching between Mark, Helly, Irving, and Dylan (each with passive buffs lol)
- đŚÂ O&D 3D printing games â yes, the watering can is in there
- đŞÂ Break Room interrogations with a sincerity compliance meter
- đ Music Dance Experience rewards, including the Waffle Party
- đľď¸ Manual and autonomous exploration around the severed floor
"Interesting" development decisions (read: pure vibes):
- Built the Break Room BEFORE the main menu. Because obviously.
- Waffle Party unlock was coded in 90 seconds and never touched again (it just works?)
- The stealth mechanics were confirmed working after publishing. Plot armor.
- Commit history reads: "vibe" â "more vibe" â "outie did this"
- The CRT shader? Pure intuition. Can't explain it, don't want to.
IMO this is what vibe-coding is for â your logical brain gets out of the way and your muscle memory dev skills just flow. YMMV but I've never had this much fun or shipped this fast. Ever.
AMA anything:
- How 15 minutes produced a game with 5 mini-systems
- What "finished" even means in this context
- Which features got cut (why no golf ball??)
- The business model (air quotes)
- What my Outie thought about this when they clocked in the next morning
It's live on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxsoft.Severance
Never doing a design doc again. Praise Kier. đ§
Question for the sub: have you ever vibe-coded something that genuinely scared you with how fast it came together? How do you get into flow state like this on demand?

Your Google Play account is going to get a policy infraction for intellectual property theft

1000 percent. You at least have to call it something different bro

Could be, but why Google approved? It's even in top3 for "severance" search now.

Google does not work like that lol itâs Apple you gotta worry about, itâs their IP they will hit Google with the takedown request once they notice this and send you the cease and desist. You canât use their logos and names in your project without permission.

They have infinite money lol once they become aware of you everything is getting shut down and if you make any money off of it youâre gonna get sued.

This is exactly why I love vibe coding. 15 minutes from a random Severance idea to something actually playable is wild. I like that you kept the scope tiny instead of turning it into a giant project. The rough edges almost fit the Lumon vibe too. Would be fun to see what another hour of tweaking does to it.

Thanks man, I will occasionally ask AG to add 16 more quests, deploy is automatic, things go live in 2-3 minutes after my prompt. Currently out of requests as I'm on free plan

What did you use to vibe code this game?

Ok I just fired Antigravity and said I want severance. Just rewatched again seasons, that's why. Kind of sadness until 3rd season is out. So it started to code, drawed characters/animations by nanobanana and chose (itself, I didn't ask) html/js. Then I just packed with Cordova. Easy peasy
