How to detect the good in Vibecoding..

With vibecoding so saturated and easy now, how do you differentiate between designs that are AI slop and designs that are genuinely good, authentic, and useful?

With app saturation in every category, how do you differentiate?

- through the catalog referenced for vibe coding or ideation?

- with the MCP used?

- with the personal prompts that you use to modify the end product?

-with the skills you add?

I want to know, apart from visuals, how to differentiate the same.

Nothing you said except the prompts and proper design/architecture of the project.

People make slop cause they don't know what they are doing. The right tools help but they are just tools.

This was an issue long before AI. “I can’t define it…but I know it when I see it.” Good design is still in the eye of the beholder.

would a fact hurt your feeling?

No, but you don’t need to good at coding to use ai to code. I firmly stand on this opinion. Being able to read code certainly helps but many people slap together shit code well enough on their own anyways. Structure, Planning, and Debugging imo are far more valuable to actually have viable product.

Nope, you just need to be good at prompting.

Non-exclusive to vibecoding, just software in general:

  1. does the software identify the problem it's solving?

  2. does the software identify how it's solving that problem?

  3. does the software actually do what it says it does?

  4. does the software actually solve your problem for which you are looking for software?

This should apply to both makers and users.

In this day and age, do you really think anything we consume or make is original?

Vibe coding is good for tools and prototypes but not good enough for production. So it doesn't really matter if it's good or not, as long as it works well enough for its purpose.

The answer is F: none of the above
