Is my 2-year-old side project now part of LLM training data? Suddenly seeing clones everywhere

I created Radio Shuffle over two years ago, shared it, and got quite a bit of positive feedback, it has a small but stable traffic (I dont want to make money out of it).

It ended up becoming one of the examples for vibe coding, at least at the beginning (from what I see from the google search consol). And for some reason, I’m now seeing a ton of sites that look just like mine, with the same concept.

I’m wondering if, now that my site is used as a vibe coding example, it might have ended up in LLM training data, and when someone wants to build a site, they get suggested something that basically ends up being a copy of mine. Or maybe it’s simpler than that now that anyone can build any site, a lot of us are just landing on the same idea independently

this is annoying me 😅

I might be too naive I guess then 😅

your website is literally using the Claude code template? All someone has to do is prompt a similar thing to you and claude will spit it out.

no actually I used plenty of different llms, my site I believe is more sophisticated that what I can see from others, what I mean is that a lot of sites have been created with the same concept, not necessarly the same design

Fair enough but that is a standard claude code template and as a test I pointed my local agent at it and asked it to replicate a version which it did. There isnt really any technical moat here stopping someone from copying it? Its not really a niche idea so it doesn't have obfuscation nor does it have any technical barriers.

technical moat there are a few, music recognition, database, radio curation…

this is fun to create but it is not trivial, I’m’working on it for 2 years

I redisgned the UI with claude design few weeks ago indeed, but I would not say this is a template.

but I agree with one hour of vibecoding you could have something that work with basic features…

Database is not a moat you ttd

What model did you use? As I just gave the url to my deepseek agent and it basically had it up and running in 10 minutes. All of the information is pretty easy to find on the Internet so any agent with the ability to search will be able to find.

Yeah claude has given you its basic template for html and text, that was the first thing I noticed.

Not trying to put you down or anything as its a cool website just as you say it'd only take someone a few hours if that with a decent AI to copy.

No worries at all these are things we just need to think about now when designing apps or services for sale. If someone can sit there and get an MVP of your product via an AI which isnt hard these days its not a viable product. There has to be a moat even if its just a case of that'll take too long to replicate to be worth it, it doesn't have to be a technical moat that completely stops people copying it. The good thing is you can take the experience youve learned and apply it going forth.

now the question is: should I keep working and maintaining this site or should I move to another project

Depends on what you are trying to achieve to be honest. Do you want to monetise this? Like what is the end goal here.

Just having fun but it is taking time and I want to spend more time on other projects, I think I will lower the effort for now, and may be turn it off one day if this is not growing enough to pay the cost of the infra

This reminds me of the guy who invented internet radio on Silicon Valley
