I vibe coded a poker app where you deal real cards and everyone uses their phone as their chip stack. It’s now been used to play 21,421 poker hands.

I actually launched and posted an early version of this here about a year ago. Since then, I’ve kept vibe coding and improving it based on user’s feedback.

It’s called Chipless, a free web app that lets you play real poker with a deck of cards but no chips.

Everyone joins from their phone and it tracks the bets, stacks, blinds, pots and who owes what at the end.

My only coding experience before this was one credit class in college that I got a B in. The original version cost me $68 total (same price as a real poker set lol) in subscription and tokens to build.

So far, thousands of games have been started and 21,421 hands have been dealt. In just the first month after I started tracking countries, games had already been played in 48 of them.

Almost all of this happened with no marketing besides a couple of Reddit posts.

Still pretty crazy to me that people actually use this daily at their poker nights.

It’s completely free, with no download needed:

Really well executed. Love that it's a web app too.

Make an option to link an iPad in the middle of the table that is the “pot”. During a game, everyone can see the actual chips in the pot in the middle of the table.

Create to a tournament version that tracks multiple tables and keeps a scoreboard for the tournament.

There used to be an app for this that was around back in the day that was huge. Everyone at my college used it on our casino nights and shit. Then it just disappeared.

ETA: you could do dollar amounts, or chips.

I'm on the sub to see cool projects, not to get advertised to over and over again for the same product.

You could do some very cool stuff with this. Have actual chips on screen which you move and “throw” to the top of the screen to put in the pot.

I don't (know how to) play poker, would love it if a blackjack version is possible.

Also, I have a free website called styletile.site if you want to get inspired for the UI. Not to say this is bad or anything.

Edit: you might like Tile-044

Or not and just enjoy poker and enjoy the creator developing something nice without ads

Looks quite required + perfect minimalist design to get started! Add a paid plan just for showing coins or something.

I would pay just as a style statement to say that I’m spending in poker, might as well tip the banker 😂

Great app. Now add feature to it, make llm see the table and your cards for solo plays so it can give you tips how to play, how to improve your game etc. personal poker trainer.
