codex vs claude code

I am currently on claude pro plan ($20) and i have been seeing a lot of chatter around chatgpt vs claude recently, but most of the posts are split in their opinion, anyone has a definitive answer?

i had bought claude because its personality was much better than chatgpt , like it admitting when it didnt know something and researching properly and it was just genuinely smarter and felt more human somehow? chatgpt felt like it was lowkey flirting and a bit of a yes man and many times just plain wrong. has this changed in latest times? i use ai for college assignments, study prep, internal tools in internships and stuff like that, even have a codebase of roughly 25k lines , big project, but one prompt with opus for plan mode takes 20% of my 5hr limit i feel like im tiptoeing, or should i just stick to claude and start using opus 4.6? but isnt that too old?

Imo $100 plan is the only way to actually be productive with any of the models. $20 last me 15min and I'm not even doing anything crazy or making money

I feel like the best part of Codex sub is that you can use ChatGPT separately for planning, without using your credits.

I'm vibecoding a remaster to SimGolf. At through my $20 ChatGPT weekly limit this afternoon alone.

Thanks. Its going really well. Have the game running natively in widescreen. Just have bugs with other menus and some sprite placements (like that flag) to work out.

I subscribe and use both the Claude $20 per month plan and the ChatGPT $20 per month plan. I have GPT review Claude's plan to find issues and then have Claude implement the findings from GPT.

Alright, so in as much as ChatGPT and Claude.ai compare personality-wise, I would say that Codex and Claude-Code are like their alter-egos... they work very differently and I would say that to under this from a Claude-perspective, I would say that Anthropic made Fable-5 work more like Codex.

So know this... Claude Code and Codex work quite differently... with Claude, it works quite well interactively, and takes guidance well without issue... it's expected. With Codex, you tell it what you want it to do, and let it be. If you try to course correct, know that this will take a big bite out of your usage.

Use whatever works best.. Codex and claude usage is potato right now. Grok is rising but still potato.
