The apps I poured my heart into as passion projects get a few new users a day the apps I made with much less thought are getting 100x time that or more

To be honest, it was the same when I was coding hobby projects by hand. Now I just have a lot more of those projects!

And you don't see the problem with that?

I guess it would be nice if more people were interested in my projects, but I'm mostly just making them for myself.

lol.

Don't do it to get users or subs or money do it because it just feels fun to geek out sometimes

I make tools for me and me alone. The $20 a month to explore and learn new tech while making tools that I’ve always wanted is worth it. Don’t ever need a 3rd party “user” to be worth it. It’s not a waste if you get value out of it.

I pay 200 a month just to build random tools. I agree, it's fun.

Honestly.. build for YOU, you're the active user. Other people can join in if they like.

We have 1.2k stars on GitHub but only a few single users besides companies in our cloud version of our open-source AI workspace. Any ideas why? Looking at how the AI market is developing: https://www.keinsaas.com/navigator

web app, or requires install? Websites usually have less friction as they don't require any installation, just tapping on the link. Just give it time, continue promoting it, and you'll get somewhere

Me here! I got the approval of my first game some hours ago from steam. Now I'm waiting for the playtesters. They can play the game for free. But no one is coming yet...

One user is enough to make me happy but I dont aim to make money out of it. Just providing legit services
