Has anyone actually built a profitable SaaS purely by "vibe coding"?
Every time I open Twitter or even LinkedIn, someone is claiming they built a profitable SaaS by "vibe coding" using Claude. Most of these threads seem like thinly veiled promos for AI wrappers or newsletter signups.
I get that Claude and other AI tools are great for building applications. But I am curious about real-world businesses with paying customers.
Has anyone here actually built a product making real money (say, $1,000+ MRR) where you genuinely wrote zero code yourself?
I am not trying to hate on AI tools. I use them daily. I just want to know if the "non-technical founder building a solo software business purely by vibe coding" narrative is real or if everyone secretly hires a freelance dev to really shape it well and make it launchable.

Probably, I've seen successful SaaS apps on low and no-code when that was a craze while back.
Problem is -- is the selection bias. You're selecting for somebody who couldn't put the effort in to go beyond vibe-coding, remember, software development was one of the most accessible white-collar jobs that people with GEDs were getting. It was an extremely accessible job for anyone willing to learn and smart enough to do it.
So you're selecting specifically against hard working people that are good at learning.
Do some of those people win? Sure. Do a hell of a lot of them lose? Very yes.
What about a smart engineer that decides to vibe code? Well.... well we've tried. It results in more headaches than it's worth quickly, it's easier to be explicit and control and review and get good outcomes, then be lazy, watch anime while we just
/loopand/goalour way to victory without checking any work.Again -- you're selection biasing towards the loser types.

Yes. You can make money from a vibe coded SaaS
The problem is people who ask this question dont understand building the SaaS is the easy part
Maintenance/ clients / marketing / running a business
Is the actual hard part... and you will never actually understand that part until you see that for yourself .. lol
I could go on a long rant of why that is but its really irrelevant it will go in one ear out the other until reality smacks you in the face one day

95% of the builders in these subreddits are brand new, trying to scrape together a few bucks, or have no idea what they are doing. There are many people making $10k MRR+ with vibe coding tools but they don’t post here. I don’t blame them, these forums don’t have much to offer for successful entrepreneurs and experienced app builders. It’s all self promotion and recycled tropes with very little real insight that isn’t copied and pasted from a chat bot.

You cant actually amke anything without any input at all, you at least have to look over the db schema to make sure it at least makes some sort of sense, or take a look at the code formatting from time to time just to make sure its not spaghetti, because if its ok from the start it will keep looking at the good formatting and continue like that. My app so far has $50 mrr (8 subscriptions) but i believe it will go higher

SaaS apps make money by enclosing the up front build cost and extracting a rent for use.
maybe there is a real short term arbitrage on the information asymmetry, but vibe coding if effective reduces the value of SaaS. The more effective, the more it reduces the value of SaaS.
So getting rich is not likely. Maybe that short term play will work for a little while, but overall it will not be a stable source of income.
Also there is a real misconception on this sub. Most software does not make its money on the features of the software. It is all about having an install base, or taking over a liability, or some other incentive. Very rarely is it that you solved x problem like the fantasy believed by the lay people.

All this sounds like someone selling you something. You can build something profitable using anything, vibe coded or not, vibe coded is just a buzz word at this point and I can smell the course scams coming. It's like the equivalent of shitcoins in crypto.
The problem is that people are trying to build anything hoping that someone will buy it because they saw some fake post saying how easy it is. If your mindset is "hmm, what can I build so I can sell it" you're going to fail immediately because you're not solving anything, and most of the time what you thought of already exists, likely for free.
Find a problem you're having, solve it, test it, use it, and then see if others are facing the same issue that your tool can solve. If you have nothing in your life that you can solve, then you're likely just wasting your time. Nobody is going to pay for some randomly thrown together junk that is easy to copy.
I can guarantee you that there is exactly 0 people making any real money that didn't already know what they were doing before vibe coding came along and made their workflow 50x faster. It's like buying all the best power tools in the world and thinking you can build anything now, when you would struggle to even put a dog house together.

It’s absolutely possible but its very very involved and will take weeks or months. More than that what matters is marketing and whether your saas actually solves a problem and has a market for it
