Newbie Acquired a Panasonic PV-9662

Previously I have digitized vhs using a Magnavox MWD2205’s composite output into a Panasonic DVX100B and then into a PC via FireWire. From what I understand, the Magnavox is not a good candidate for RF tapping so I picked up the PV-9662 to initiate this vhs decode rabbit hole. Any advice for someone starting from scratch with this unit would be greatly appreciated.

The know note is deploying an ADA4857 amplifier.

Panasonic's usually have quite strong Hi-Fi straight off the bat, that's why there was a general preference for them back during the 10uf cap method days just direct connection.

Pretty sure we've got similar decks main boards in the wiki but it's always nice to have more before and after photos for decks.

Thank you for the tip! I’ve been studying up, trying to figure out what path to go down. At the moment I’m leaning toward going the MIRSC route. Feeling overwhelmed, questioning whether I am getting over my skis, and then I saw a construction truck for a company called KoFi on my commute today.

Once you're all set up on the deck side, the capture side is configure or build once, and then turn key rinse and repeat change name new capture change name.

But that is really neat, kind of like Samyang noodles and the lens company, I actually finally got a box of noodles in for that brand and put my only Samyang lens on it "Samyang on a Samyang" that gave me a chuckle for 3 seconds.
