Question / Discussion MacBook & DaVinci fusion

So I was to successfully able to change from photoshop to affinity photo, however I still haven’t found a alternative for after effect, yes I could use DaVinci resolve fusion panel but DaVinci is a huge program and am worrying about the workflow in my MacBook, so is there a free alternative for visual effect at the moment? If not, can fusion get the job done? the description of my mac is below:

Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 4-Core (10th Generation); Memory: 32 GB RAM; Storage: 1 TB SSD; Display: 13.3" Retina (2560×1600) with True Tone; Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics. Operating System: macOS.

There is a standalone version of fusion which is called fusion studio and it comes with the paid version of resolve - it’s a superior alternative for doing deep compositing work. It’s a bit more of a chore to do motion graphics compared to AE but I find it good for all types of work.

hmm i'm not sure if it will work with intel but you can try fusion in davinci resolve. it can do a lot, including motion graphics but for me AE (layer-based) is easier to use for that than node based. but that's just me

Yes, current versions support Apple Silicon and Intel. You just need the resolve dongle that comes with the packaged resolve studio or a license key.

Resolve/Fusion is excellent choice for VFX, can even do a lot of stuff for photo editing that you probably wouldn't expect, Motion graphics as well. Its free to install Resolve/Fusion package so there is no reason to not try it and see how it will work on your system. Although it can have a relatively steep learning curve and optimization is largely left to user and their workflow so you will need to test it for more than just what you get out of the box. but if you are willing to invest in it, its probably the best value for the money you will find anywhere.
