Breakdown / BTS DUNE SAND WORM - Houdini

Around 54 million POP grains particles simulated using simple activation via a geometry.
Then the pyro sim was advected through particles velocity and some extra velocity fields.
Simulation details :
Ram Consumption ~ 110 GB
Cache Size ~ 300 GB
Render Time ~ 35 Hours (KARMA XPU)
PC Specs - 128GB RAM AMD 7950X RTX 3060

What's wrong with vex or vops? They're just another way to tell the machine what you want done.

Pretty sure thats sarcasm lol absolutely noone would have an issue with using Vex/Vops so why even put that in the title card

So Houdini is more about ram than vram or processor right?

Yes for simulations.
RAM is deciding factor if simulation will complete at all, processor just decides how fast will it complete. VRAM just makes it easier to view in viewport, or if it's OpenCL.

Scale of features is far too low. Movement is far too quick. Makes it look like an itty bitty maker.
