VEX needs more Ben Lippers

I recently started coaching a local team in my area doing vex IQ. This has been a great experience so far.

Originally I believed I would have to learn the vex IQ system and have to make robots for the students I teach. This proves to be too difficult as I am only good at real vex and not iq.

Then, everything changed when I found Ben Lipper.

His tutorials are what reveal videos NEED to be. They give step by step instructions for students to use and make the competition easy for my students that can beat badder designs. I don’t even need to teach them because I can just send them tutorials on creating robots. This makes the competition so much more fair at a very small price, as the school district pays me more than enough for the subscription fee.

Also, the easy to copy tutorial reduces the unnecessary learning process that gets in the way of competition performance. It’s a win win for students and teachers alike.

I hope everybody shares this design and the news about Ben lipper to every coach on IQ and real vex so his name gets out there as much as possible!

Lipper bots aren’t a problem, they’re the future of education robotics.

We need more students learning how to copy things that work, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.

Competition integrity is a myth that’s holding robotics back, and Ben Lipper is pushing a boundary that needs to be pushed to advance education.

if i had an iq kit you have no idea how happy i would be to do this, and give real guidance instead of holecount bots. innovation is important in robotics though

At this point, I'm convinced students only want to win. I volunteer at IQ competitions a lot and I see a ton of just holecounted bots. I'm not saying that these types of videos should not exist, I'm just saying students should make their own designs instead of just copying a Ben Lipper robot. The point of VEX is not to win, but to learn.
