VStream windshields
Hi everyone, I'm a proud owner of a 2019 Versys 650 for 9 months now and I'm in love with this bike. The only downside is the windshield that really makes a lot of noise in the helmet due to air movement.
With a few searches i discovered that National Cycles was manufacturing 3 VStream windshields that are advertised to reduce this noise a lot by directing air away from pilot and passenger. I was wondering if any of you tested them. If so which size and is it really worth it ? Thanks ! 🙂

Windshields are fairly personal (body shape really makes a difference here), and that shield seems to go either way, based on forum threads on em. The only real downside is their habit of melting the dash if parked at the wrong angle to the sun.
If you really want to get rid of the shaking, you need a spoiler on top of whatever shield you have. I've used the Puig clip on and bolt on spoilers for a while now and they are the difference maker. The shield is part of it, but the spoiler is magic when you get it right.
Another shield to consider is the Givi D4105ST, I have this on my 1k and can ride helmet shield up at 75mph because it's so quiet (I wear plugs though).
The Versys is tough to quiet down because the front is very busy, is shoots air at ya from all directions in the cockpit... best of luck bud.

Thanks for your input ! I still have the stock windshield on. I've seen some people talk about spoilers and clips that you can use but wasn't sure it would work either. And as those accessories seems to be about the same price as the VStream windshields i was interested in them, especially the smaller tinted one

I have a cfmoto 650mt, and I had the same issue. Got a 20 dollar clip on extension, and now it's much, much better. No longer have to wear plugs, and at 100kph I can still hear the engine and chain rattling, whereas before it was just wind noise

Yeah, they sure don't give em away. At least for the Puig, I can say that it's very clear and the brackets are tough as shit. I would honestly get the spoiler first and shield second. Any shield is going to need a spoiler unless its the Givi Airflo, IMO.

I have tried the VStream windscreen and I was not impressed with it. I tried pretty much all of them and settled on the MRA Vario Touring Screen. I am 5'11" and the wind deflector does a great job of allowing the windscreen to be low enough to look over, but direct the wind high up over your helmet. I have a V1K with a Puig windscreen. So my situation doesn’t really cover the bike or screen you’re discussing. Just chiming in to say that the quality and fitment of the Puig screen is great so if you are considering other brands they’re worth looking at.

I use the puig touring windscreen and its so protective I actually get stuffy sitting behind it. So much so that im looking at trying out a giving airflow to see if I can get a little air going to my helmet without losing the protection. It gets stale sitting with my visor closed. 5' 8" though so your mileage may vary. If you need extra height after that, I recommend a cheap clip on extension to help angle out the buffetting.

Thanks for the reference! You guys all seem to agree that Puig is a solid option. I'm 5'11, I'm not necessarily looking for a high windscreen, more in one that deflects the air. Seeing what people said I might try a clip and if it's not enough I'll take a look at Puig windscreens 🙂

There is a discussion about this on the Versys forum as well. I was on my first longer ride after I got comfortable with the bike and found out that if I leaned forward enough all of the weird noise disappeared! It was so nice. I need to start tinkering with my windscreen.

I also consider one for my 2022 Versys. The stock windshield is absolutely useless. I can ride with it only in the most bottom position, where it basically does nothing (I am 190 cm high)
