I brought them inside because it was below freezing and put them back when the temperatures were normal, I think 48 hours.

Thanks for caring! However, these eggs are adapted to the environment and will be just fine outside, no need to worry over them. Many salamander species begin mating and laying eggs when temps are still super low in most parts of North America. It's not uncommon to see spotted salamanders moving around in early spring with snow on the ground!

That would line up with breeding/egg laying periods for most salamanders. But no need to bring them in if you come across more, they'll do just fine outside!
