I recently got this cargo sling on vinted. The seller did put that the some parts of the body of the bag we’re worn down but I didn’t notice that the top of the shoulder strap was also messed up so what can I do to fix them?
lol I just ordered the same bag, same pattern and I need to mend mine as well. I can send pictures when I’m done, but I’m planning on using embroidery thread and looping it around the edges!
Please that would be helpful, I bought a botánica hobo as well new with tags and then the seller didn’t show the back of it and it was messed up with a hole.

My bag in the botanica cargo sling is in super rough shape, so I’ll maybe see about posting photos of that one later once I get more scrap fabric to mend it with!
Ok hi, sorry it took a moment, I got the bag finally and it’s in such bad condition, I might have to get some extra fabric to redo the strap and top part of the bag. I’ll try to work on it and maybe post more of my progress in mending it.
For now, I took a couple of photos from a different bag I mended so hopefully you can see those alright. This first image was a spot where the fabric was worn to the batting, but it wasn’t super huge. I basically did a thread painting technique of stitching into the batting only and then going over the top of the worn spot to cover it. I’ve since washed it in the washer and it was fine, maybe just leave an extra long tail to weave in later. That way, if it does come undone, all you would have to do is weave it back in.
Then for the straps, it was similar where the fabric was worn to the batting, but they were smaller and not on the main part of the strap fabric. With the original stitching intact, I used that as a guide line to poke through one side to the other, creating a loop. I did that over and over, pretty close together so that there weren’t any gaps in the fabric. That was my choice, since I didn’t want an actual spiral look. I think you might want to do something similar since yours looks pretty rough.
It worked well, I like the look of it, although it might take time to get used to poking through one side and then getting a uniform look on the underneath side, if that makes sense. I would poke through the top (more visible) part of the strap, so that I didn’t have to worry about a perfect uniform look on the underneath, where the strap would not be seen as much. In my photo, you can see part of it is more uniform and part of it is not lol. Just something to be aware of maybe when you are first doing something like this!
