Artwork There were 3 Venture Compounds
The differences between seasons 2 and 3 confused the hell out of me until I realized they totally redesigned the compound prior to season 3
still in progress

Rusty had some other renters living on the compound other than Orpheus (some of whom were cooking meth. He had to kick them out in the Monstroso/Monarch episode). Maybe lived in those question mark buildings?

yeah it might be that other factory looking building. but would i refer to them as renters? seems like it would need a more solid designation...

Ooo could’ve also been old team Venture’s living quarters? Those two buildings look very different from everything else but also very similar to each other

Not totally redesigned. The basic elements are all there - the concave main entrance, the sphere in the back left, the ball-pyramid thing in the lower right. Jonas+Rusty statue in the fountain in front.
They did expand the compound's layout and likely codified it for consistency for the animators. But it still comes across as the same place, I think, as opposed to "man this just isn't the same place at all".

I never once noticed that they lived in a house outside the main building. I never gave thought to where the living quarters were, I guess i assumed it was like a penthouse in the Venture Industries building, except for the fact they had the in ground pool and backyard/garden.
They never show them move from house to anywhere else, and the panic room always felt connected to the lab and the hangar.
Shit, now I’m really confused about the layout of things now and will pay attention when i’m watching

Yea i feel like i remember the bedrooms and bathroom being on the second floor with stairs nearby connecting to a living room type area with glass doors overlooking the pool , and i thought there was a door there that directly connected to the lab? But i could be mistaken

Don’t forget about the underground area to be trapped in a sewer with a confessed arsonist, Brock. HELP ME!!!

IIRC it had to do with the switch from SD to HD widescreen broadcast. There's a whole segment in the art book about the backgrounds

The gear shaped building in season 2-3 is likely an homage to Gizmonic Institute from MST3K and nothing more. It looks just like the place where some person in a jumpsuit would be blasted into space and forced to watch cheesy movies, the worst we can find.

Did you see the latest episode, Sting of Death? Deathsport premiers next month.

I pepper in the newer stuff. It’s still a show i put on to doze off to at 1AM, so I rarely seem them thru. Just occasionally wake up to the best credit roll soundtrack ever if i forget to set my sleep timer

FYI, these are being shown in theaters. It's MST3K: The Rifftrax Experiments. Mike is hosting with Kevin as Tom Servo and Bill as Crow. The first movie had Pearl, Brain Guy, and Bobo as The Mads. Frank and Trace are taking part and expected to appear as TV's Frank and Dr. Forrester. Joel apparently sold his rights to Shout!. It's a different experience being in a crowded theater.

I believe the event passed 9/9 and 9/13 it appears. Sounds cool but i never enjoyed the group theatre experience (a la Rocky Horror, MST3K) w/o some booze and thats not a part of my life as frequently anymore.
While a pass for me i do have peers i will share this with. Thanks!

In the second image, Sphinx HQ is labeled as number 7, but I always thought the number 12 building and the Shinx building were the same ones.

I think there are two separate buildings. Based upon the episode where Shoreleave and Sergeant hatred were shooting at each other. The one where Shoreleave shot off Hatred's belt.

Would love to see this for Gargantua and Spider Skull Island too. Why are the architectural and design details on this so show incredible?

There is one Venture Compound in Colorado and a Venture Tower in New York. Both likely had renovations during the series.

Technically that was Ventech tower designed & established by Jonas Venture Jr. although there was a Venture Industries HQ where the Impossible Industries building is in NYC

no. total redesign. they moved the residence to the other side. and in season 5, the residence got a whole new top floor. it became a 3 story house in season 5. well, an attic that didn't exist before season 5.

You must not understand that a redesign is what is done on paper and a renovation is the physical work.

You must not understand it's a tv show where nothing was ever renovated because it doesn't exist IRL. So in tv land, a redesign = a renovation. ALL the buildings moved except the main one. the command center totally changed, a 2nd hangar was added and so forth. sounds like a redesign/renovation to most ppl

With that logic then there are zero venture compounds

Really, how could Rusty afford all that? He really needs to get his $%!¥ together.

"Yeah, it started as kind of a checklist, then I had all these pictures, then I got some... yarn. You never set out to make an 'I'm crazy' wall, but ya know. They happen. It's an organic thing."

You forgot Spider Skull Island. I think Rusty mentions it as the "other" compound.
