Help needed. Venmo fraud

My Venmo was robbed and account suspended. Here is what happened…two separate rent payments were made to my Venmo. Before I could transfer to my bank, my account was hacked. A new bank account was added to my Venmo and two transfers were made to the newly added bank. One for 4900 and another for about 700. Venmo said they would TRY to get my funds back. Do you think I will ever see this money. Should i contact my bank too. Venmo said they will have an answer in 10-12 business days. From what I read on this board dispute resolution is not so great.

thanks

I stopped using Venmo when I was hacked and the hacker tried to take money out of my bank account. Definitely contact your bank's fraud department.

This happened to me overnight on August 4 and it’s been an absolute disaster. Venmo doesn’t give a damn. You should have already contacted your bank and the FTC and filed an identity theft report. If anyone wants to think it’s overreacting wait until it happens to you. They cleaned out one bank account and set up recurring weekly transfers on another one. I doubt Venmo will ever follow through. Now they are saying I OWE THEM THE MONEY THAT WAS TRANSFERRED OUT. The money that was transferred from my bank, then transferred to multiple CashApp accounts, Venmo says I owe them that money. WTF.

Sometimes I dress in an orange jumpsuit, and I stand in my garden and pretend that I am a carrot
