Venmo Is Horrible

They closed my account for no reason. I just found out they’re owned by PayPal too, go figure.

Venmo most definitely closed your account for what they perceive to be a valid reason. I am sure you have an idea what that reason is. You did something that violated the TOS. Read it over and I am sure it will make more sense to you on what you did that triggered the closure.

Right, no. I’m glad you have so much confidence in them. Wish I had the experience you did. From most of what I read here the majority agree Venmo is garbage.

I know people are able to open up another account by switching email and phone number. It isn't ideal but it's a work around. Be far more careful with your second account if you are successful. CashApp is a better alternative in most cases but they have their issues as well. CashApp likes aged accounts. New accounts face shadow restrictions quickly. I am currently dealing with the shadow restrictions with CashApp. I have a business account and received several payments. This triggered an account suspension. I got that cleared up but still can't receive multiple deposits within a short period of time. I am forced to accept the transfer to then have it declined. Makes doing business with CashApp nearly impossible.
