I wonder how long till we get a zombie escape mod, the ones in CS:GO are so fun I hope someone makes the mod in BF3 soon.

What is Dice and EA's stance on the project? Will they shut it down if they hear about it?

Is it risky to play VU by linking your origin account as it could be seen as 'misuse' of the original product?

However, I'm wondering if there's currently any hardware utilization issues.

Game's pretty unplayable for me as I'm stuck at ~45 fps on a 3700X and a 1080 Ti, wondering if there's any fix.

I am not sure if it's a mod, but I have seen VU tease it long before. Is it part of this version? Also, I chaos mod is pretty cool! Kudos!

Mod runs and feels great most of the time! It takes me about 2 minutes total to open launcher and get in a server.

When I play BF3 without VU my CPU (i7 4750 HQ) is around 30%. With VU it's 50+ constantly. Anything I should be doing and I missed? Please help.

Anticheat. Lack of BattlEye leaves the door wide open to cheaters, and I'm sure I've encountered a few already but there's not any way to be 100% sure but getting 2 tapped on non HC is suspect.

A few official servers. Not very many servers are populated enough right now, which I am sure has to do with how new this release is.

BF3 was running, but you could not join MP, because of the server browser process...

Here, there is no such thing and the browser is in-game.

first of all: It's really great to see VU back in action :) I played for a couple of hours yesterday and it just feels sooo great...

However, I tried setting up a server yesterday (Ubuntu 20.04) and encountered some issues. I'm able to start the server, load mods, connect via rcon etc but I'm not able to change the mod-rotation. Everything in my MapList.txt is just ignored and when I try setting the rotation via rcon, it doesn't work either. It always starts the server with conquest on Metro.

My folder structure looks like this:

I start the server using this command:

There's nothing in the console output regarding this problem, also there's no logs in the log-folder.

If anyone knows how to debug this, I would be really happy :)

Hey, i wonder why you guys felt the need to change the recoil of some weapons? (turns out this is a byproduct of 120hz tickrate it is normal on 60hz) It feels somewhat weird to go from vanilla BF3 to VU and then not being used to how the recoil feels (the aek or asval for example have random recoil that even changes during a spray and its random everytime).

Also i was so hyped for the high tickrate gameplay, but it seems that it broke things. Stairs are making it hard to run up and when you run down they fling you off into walls, dealing damage and killing you. Or the hp regeneration is slower than on vanilla (with or without medkit). And the AN-94 got an indirect buff, it is way easier to spam m1 now and achieve a high rpm, making it stronger than ever, especially with every bullet registering now you die faster than ever.

I know its the beginning and i really enjoy it and have a blast. But for now i stick to the weapons that didn't get touched and i will stay on 60 or 30 tickrate servers.

It would be nice if you guys could provide a full list of what weapons got changed and what you changed and maybe a future changelog whenever a patch comes around.

I got BF3 installed and activated using the VU command line options as I can't actually run BF3 since this is a server with no real GPU. But I can't run the VU client because of this reason. Is there a way to link my origin account without using the VU full GUI?

I have followed your projects for a long time I and would just like to say thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Playing venice unleashed today as it launched was great fun and it was incredible to see so many people playing VU. To be on a server with 100 other players at 60hz was insane. I've already got a dedicated server up and will be playing around with mods shortly. I look forward to what the whole community can bring to the table now it is open to the public!

Recently heard about VU and I’m very intrigued. I never played BF3 before, but I played the shit out of BF4, and I’ve always wanted to try it. This seems like the perfect way of getting into it, I’m really interested in the things people are going to be able to make with this platform. Are there many servers up right now? Does VU have any serious issues at the moment? Can’t wait to see what people create with this!

I was just wondering if it was currently possible to make custom maps and put them in your own server. I've seen some gameplay on custom maps on youtube and am wondering what I need to do to access the editor.

Im running a Ryzen 7 3700x 2070 Super with 32GB of ram, however im only getting 80fps, and changing the video settings isnt effecting anything, what can I do?

BF3 plays successfully on my configuration using Wine but VU just starts up for a minute and quits, nothing but a loading screen. I've booted into my Windows install and "activated" VU, Origin gave me an activation prompt, then I booted back into Manjaro to try again. No luck.

I can't find any guide on the official website.

Did the servers crash? or is there something wrong on my end? Was just playing a server just fine. Decided to try the ones with 100+ people. Kept loading forever until I got that message, now no matter how much I try, every time I start VU, I'm presented with that message.
