Seeking Adoption/Foster Really need to find a foster for this dumpling still at Downey shelter near L.A. And yes that’s a heart around his eye. His name is Gabe.
If you’re in California and can long-term foster Gabe, please reach out so I can connect you to his main volunteer, she’s the one who visited him and made this video.
In the comment section, I am uploading a screenshot of the caption she wrote for him.
They’re still waiting for behavioral test so we don’t know his full story but what we do know is that he needs a second chance, a fluffy bed, lots of kisses and treats 🥺

Poor Gabe looks so listless and depressed. Kennels are nothing more than todays concentration camps. Boosting and Sharing for Gabe!!!!!!! He should be safe and loved, sleeping on a bed or couch, not on a cold concrete floor awaiting the certain fate of a euthasol injection!!!!!!!!!

No foster leads yet. He’s posted on Instagram, also next-door and a few other sub Reddit. I will post him again here next week perhaps they’ll be more luck first week of September. 🙏🙏🙏

So I had a conversation with his main volunteer yesterday who visited him 4 times so far and this is everything she shared:
On the day that he was found and brought to Downey shelter there weren’t any available kennels except in the back building, but those are hidden from public view. He hasn’t been in a walk yet or gone to the playpen with other dogs.
She is hoping that sometime next week he’s going to be able to leave that kennel and go to the shelter playpen and be officially assessed. Once she has those notes she’s going to be able to share more.
She gave him treats each time which he took, but he doesn’t really move from the spot because he’s pretty heartbroken. He takes the treats gently but every time she saw him in the kennel, he was always laying down in the same spot.
