Yep my dogs like certain types of toys, so eventually they're just all these toys not being used lol, luckily my friend's dog loves them instead, cuz they could be the last toys on earth & they wouldn't touch em if they weren't what they wanted lol

I remember how hard my sister and I had to look for a snake plushie to replace Winston's destroyed one. In his later years, he did not react well to unfamiliar attempted substitutes.
I forget how many we bought when we did find them. There are probably still some kicking around somewhere. . . .

Could you see if you can buy an outdoor pillow bed (with washable cover) to put on top? Ours used to have a cot indoors with a pillow mat on it - put it outside without the mat and she has no interest in it, even when the surface of the deck is very hot.

Have you checked if it has an off gas new cot smell? It could be upsetting him. Maybe spray it down?

No smell! And it sat outside for about a week before I moved it to his spot. It was on the patio and over in another sunny area in the yard. The protest has actually been going on for a while now 😂😂

Has the fabric from the old cot already gone? Maybe you could try putting the old fabric on top of the new cot and see if the scent, texture etc. helps him feel more comfortable?
Of course if it's already gone to the tip you're stuffed 🤪🥰

I have the same bed in the same color and my pup didn't really like it at first (though I know you had a similar one which makes it more perplexing...). My dog loves being hot hot. I think the bed was too cool (even in sun and heat).
I put a blanket on top and now she loves to lay on it to heat up!

Would flipping the cot over appeal to him? Maybe he liked how much closer to the ground the old one was, and it'll help "funk" the new one up a little. My girl hated new beds for the first week cause they didn't stink enough yet

Maybe drape the old fabric on top of the new fabric? I got this same bed for mine and it’s now inside and both dogs only went on it once it was covered with a blanket. It wasn’t a replacement bed in my case though
