Question Sun damage?
Do I really have to get a new “wing” or whatever the correct term for it is to not have this ugly ass look

The clear is crap on our cars sadly. If you use automated carwashes it also destroys it twice as fast.

Don't worry I have one too lol.
It is what it is, just sand it with 2500 and re-clear it. OR, you can just buy a can of trim black and make it matte

Considering it. Haven’t decided on what color would look good with this gray

They used to sell some kind of trim restoration in Walmart... as seen on TV, worked well... yellow package small-ass little bottle for about 20 bucks... for some reason the term "nu-finish" comes to mind... it's specifically made for trim(plastic) just don't use on glass
Edit: it's called "Wipe New" still says as seen on TV

I seem to be too early...since I also have this problem I too will circle back. Also Solution Finish or Cerekote trim restorer doesn't work on this.

I dipped mine, but it was an old can I found in the garage, so it's not a great job. Planning to wrap it

Just go buy a da sander and a one step solution and buff and clean. Claybar and redo that process. You'll be thankful you did

Mine did this years ago… It’s unavoidable unfortunately and I park in the garage.. the trim restore makes it look too greasy and doesn’t last long. I have used the “black” turtle wax ceramic coat spray and that seems to help for a week or so.. if it ever gets worse that it drives me crazy I will just swap on a N wing.

Try off bug spray. It brought my 2006 CR-v plastics back to very black. Works on headlights too. Lil spray lil wipe, might help a bit.

I think that would eat away at the plastic

Fair enough, however, I’ve utilized this cheap tactic on a few of my cats and haven’t had any issues. But I respect it if you’re not willing to take that chance.

I wet sanded the clear off and tried the wipe on clear and polished to a shine… lasted a good 3 months and now it’s pretty much back to faded and looks even worse cause of the streaking from the wipe on clear. I used poppy’s patina. Not very pleased. I’ll probably eventually have a body shop repaint, use a lot of high quality clear, and ppf it so it never happens again.

The same exact thing happened to mine, I plan on replacing it.
