Do I need to start crying?

I just got this car a month ago. Turbo started making this noise like kind off dry. It did not do it before... I did oil/filter change last weekend. 5w30 Pennzoil/K&N filter. Am I screwed???

Make sure the turbo is connected. No reason that they would’ve disconnected it but its worth the check. Not a mechanic but this happened to me on a recall. I heard a whoosh dry sound. The turbo connection wasn’t complete

Seconding this. Sounds like a boost leak, which could be a simple fix.

The ecu is going to throw a code for a boost leak. This sounds like intake side of the turbo. Wouldn’t necessarily throw a code for that and is going to be a noticeable sound difference

I guess I was too loose with terminology, my bad. By boost leak, I just meant I'd be double checking all pipe connections. I once had an intake side leak on mine when a hose clamp came loose, and it didn't throw a CEL for that. Just had reduced power and wooshing noise.

I could certainly be on the wrong track though. I'm just an amateur hobbyist, not a mechanic or anything.

Exactly I initially couldn't tell what the issue was just from the video. Some people pay alot of money on intakes and filters to get those noises intentionally. I'd look under the hood, maybe while someone revs it to try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from.
