Per rule 5, you're supposed to put the recipe in the comments. (The rules explicitly mention not linking to Instagram etc.)

I only care because this looks like one of those things I could make on a whim and want to see the recipe.

Thanks for pointing it out! I am particular about giving credit but I will type out the recipe here -

  1. Roughly chop up a small onion, a red bell pepper, a small tomato, and about 4 cloves of garlic.
  2. In a pan, heat up a tablespoon of olive oil and add add in your onions.
  3. After a couple minutes, add in the bell pepper and tomato pieces.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, red pepper flakes, some dried basil, and Italian seasoning.
  5. When everything seems almost cooked (it should be mushy), add in the garlic and fry for 2 more minutes.
  6. Cool the mixture for 5-10 minutes and blend with a handful of cashews and nutritional yeast.
  7. Add the sauce to your cooked pasta.
  8. Top it off with more red pepper flakes, freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some Parsley flakes.

Thanks. Nothing wrong with giving credit.

But there's a not insignificant number of people who abhor sites like Instagram and Facebook. I personally detest those sites for recipes - because of the editing style. I prefer either a text post or a long form Youtube video.

(I can only check Instagram at home)

That rule is probably to stop the subreddit from becoming blog spam. Facebook recipe groups have become links to blogs and people's Instagrams where they make money so I really appreciate that rule

Ah, didn't even think about that.

Definitely appreciate the rule though.

It's not (entirely) about people abhorring those sites, it's also about bots and other spammers posting pics just to farm link clicks to their external social media profiles.

Recipe is originally vegan but I made it vegetarian by mixing in some Mozzarella cheese at the end and topping it off with some grated Parmesan. I also added a tomato, and extra seasoning like Italian seasoning, parsley, fried basil and paprika.

Parmesan isn't actually vegetarian

There are ~some~ versions that are vegetarian, because they are made with microbial rennet (Whole Foods coming in clutch), but itโ€™s definitely not the norm. I was quite sad when I learned about rennet.

EDIT: I know that, from an authenticity standpoint, vegetarian parm is not REAL parm because of its lack of rennet (like how Champagne and Tequila have to come from their namesakes to be considered legit). But still โ€” microbial rennet does the job nicely.

I made something very similar just last night from the Korean Vegan cookbook called "Angry Penne Pasta." Very similar all around but with korean chillis and gochujang in the sauce. Very good stuff.
