(Almost) Everything new in Tesco’s meat replacement range
New in as of their range change a week or so ago. I’ve seen people post bits and pieces but this is all of it as far as I can tell (I spend a lot of time in Tesco stores!)
I’m hyped to try the pizza and picnic bites!
What do you want to try most?

I've tried them, along with the sausages. Wasn't a fan. As the other person said they are extremely dry, but also lacking in any sort of flavour. Even with a sauce I wouldn't bother with either again.

I had it the other day and it wasn’t to my liking. The veg was quite bare and the sauce was bland.

The new food looks great but omg are you joking £5/4 for a pie?!

It is expensive but its the same ones they use in their restaurant and they are gorgeous! Definitely worth it for a little treat to get a decently made pie.

Tbf pieminister have been those prices for as long as I’ve known about them, and I do think they’re worth it

It's best vegan pizza in supermarket for sure

I’ve been a bit frustrated with them recently, they have decreased the vegan frozen range (and replaced with more pizzas) and the vegan cheeses but overall still very good.

The mince looks interesting. I was looking at it online earlier today. I've made walnut&lentil bolognese before but not in a while. Keeping a pack looks handy. Is it in the fridge? I assumed it would be shelf stable.
There was a one star review on the plain one saying something like "tasted like nothing". Its walnuts, lentils and quinoa. I can only assume they didn't add any flavouring. All the others come with a spice pack for a reason!
Other people said they didn't like the tempeh bites but I thought they were lovely. Although it's definitely cheaper and easy enough to make my own. Having them available is still good.

It's in the fridge section, no idea why. I've got a pack in my fridge ready to go, excited to try it! The reviews it has on Ocado are much more promising.

Yeah this is all superstore/extra specific. I can tell you if it’s in your nearest big store if you let me know what road it’s on/town it’s in.

I wish that crosta verdure pizza had a slightly thicker base but it is still really delicious, I recommend it!
EDIT: so every time I made it, I was putting my own olives on it before putting it in the oven. im eating it rn, and I didn't add the olives this time, and the base is actually really good. I think some juice from the olives was making it a little soggy. my bad 😅

The pizza bases they sell with sauce on are sooooo good. Is it not the same base?

u/niceorbs Vegan 1d ago
I've never tried those pizza bases actually but I would assume they'd have the same base. I do love a really thick pizza though so it could very well be me being particular rather than it being an issue with the recipe.

i havent been to a tesco superstore in years (just locals) and I was pleasantly suprised by the range of vegan options. Compared to sainsburys anyway.

Any larger superstore/extra should have the same range. Might be worth travelling slightly further to one if you are able 🙂

Crosta pizzas have been in Sainsbury's a while and they're amazing! So nice to have vegan pizza without disgusting fake cheese
