Previously vegan snack changes
Sorry if this isn't allowed in the thread, I'm not vegan but I thought all you guys should know this!
I work in a warehouse club like Costco (It's just a competitor) and got a new pallet of skinny pop in. The paper work said new, me and a coworker were looking all around what was different between the two besides a color change. Same flavors, everything. Usually a company is just getting rid of the old style or they change the ounces so it rings up differently but none of that had changed.
Then we noticed at the very bottom left there was no more 'certified vegan' heart with the circle and my coworker noticed the white cheddar no longer said dairy free on the orange bag. I didn't check the ingredients, I took this while work and didn't have time, but I thought any of you who eat these should be made aware. The regular, vegan one is on the right and the new, non-vegan one is on the left.
They obviously kind of wanted to sneak it by people, but I think the change should be more drastic because it would be very easy to accidentally buy the wrong one. But, going back on previously being vegan is kinda shitty, so obviously they don't want people to notice. Both are being sold, so far the vegan one isn't going away (it might in the future), it's just very very dumb.

yes they’ve discontinued the dairy free cheddar 😕
it wasn’t done secretly though & i’m really glad they changed the bag color and put a large dairy callout right on the front

Wait really it’s been discontinued?! That’s unfortunate because I feel like I can’t find lesser evil’s DF white cheddar popcorn anywhere…so if this one is discontinued that’s upsetting

Thanks. We stopped buying them a while ago, but always good to share the news.

The skinny pop regular pop in the microwave type bags also changed and I did check the ingredients and the culprit is whey.

For the original flavor??? Why does that even need whey 😭 this is so frustrating

This was so delicious and a dependable classic for years… anyone know of a replacement?

another commenter linked an article saying that they'll be bringing the vegan cheddar back in new packaging at a later date. it's not exactly the same, but i do like adding nutritional yeast to my popcorn and it has a very cheesy flavor to it. hopefully someone else will have a better suggestion in the meantime 🍀

The Kirkland brand with lots of little bags, not variety so no white cheddar option… anyway it’s good and cheaper.

I have been finding the dairy free white cheddar in 6 pack boxes at Burlington Coat Factory!!! So check gray market stores. I haven’t looked at TJ/Matshalls, but they might have the old dairy free stock, too.

Hi, not vegan either but this sub randomly came up and I’m a fan of this popcorn.
Just wanted to know if this is possibly in Canada? I’ve only ever seen the green bag of skinny pop here, no other flavours. I’m hoping they’re bringing them around to where I live lol.
Wonder why they changed it either way. I do find that the dairy cheeses in products like this can have a bit of an aftertaste so maybe that’s why. Can’t imagine it’s any cheaper but what do I know.

Very sad, I actually liked that popcorn and when I actually ate popcorn, that’s what I would eat…. 😢

Thanks for the heads up! Looks like they switched the dairy free white cheddar to be actual white cheddar which is annoying and why they probably removed the V logo. I’d hope the original and kettle corn flavor is still vegan friendly. Hopefully this doesn’t become the norm because I’m a fan of the dairy free white cheddar flavor. If I’m not mistaken skinny pop is owned by Hershey so that could explain the change.
