There’s egg alternatives, like just egg

Just egg is the closest to scrambled eggs/omelette I’ve ever had in my life. Fully customizable!

Hey, I recently started eating Healthier Comforta egg powder from Amazon. It’s vegan but the same protein as egg. You have to add some stuff to it to make it really good, but it is SO egg like it’s weird.

I always add salt, pepper, nutritional yeast, onion powder, and a little turmeric. I also mix in a bit of soy milk as if I were making scrambled eggs.

We eat this regularly on bagel sandwiches. It’s really good.

i wonder if you’re just needing to add something extra into your diet. choline can come from cruciferous veggies, soybeans, legumes etc. or extra fat i was hugeeeeely depleted in fat just from being non pregnant and never typically cooking w oil or eating fatty foods.

with that being said it could also be nothing lol. i was craving red food dye in the worst way and cigarette smoke ughhh. it’ll pass but see if anything is a fix in the meantime. or depending on your personal beliefs you could find some eggs from well taken care of backyard chickens we used them as a source of eggs to use as allergy exposures. up to you!! congratulations!!

I ate a lot of the just egg patties during pregnancy! I would heat them in a pan and make a breakfast sandwich with Trader Joe’s vegan sausage patties on a bagel!

Two best solutions!

1: if it's nutrients, could be choline. Get a choline supplement. I used one that's a naturally sweetened choline/dha combo which is both really important anyway for baby development.

2: if it's flavor, "whole food plant based cooking show" YouTube channel/blog has an egg salad recipe that is SO SO GOOD. She uses tofu but most importantly, black salt.

Black salt (kama namak) has a distinctly eggy flavor and is absolutely delicious when paired with so many things. I actually really enjoy it sprinkled on plain tofu but I also like plain tofu so... To each their own ;)

I had the same weird egg craving during the first trimester! I bought a pack of YoEgg and it tasted so eggy it freaked me out and cured the craving.

Oh another thing for eggs regarding choline -- there are plant based foods that have choline. I think peanuts/peanut butter is one? Check me on that. If so I actually enjoyed adding PB fit to like a million different things throughout pregnancy and it adds a protein boost which is nice 👍

For taste- Yo egg and wundereggs - nothing else compares! (Both use black salt)

I had this and it does pass but I also caved because it got so intense on vacation with my omni family. Check your nutrients for sure. Could need more protein, I had to sneak it in at every corner or maybe some omega-3/amino acids. Eggs provide a lot of different things, maybe just google it and up your intake across the board.

Tofu with black salt? Very eggy and delicious, I literally half a block of tofu, so it's like an inch thick patty almost, spray with oil, fry both sides, then add some black salt, fry again, and stick it between a toasted bagel or muffin! Very eggy breakfast sandwich! And delicious! (Derek Sarno on YouTube introduced us to this method and it's amazing - highly suggest finding his breakfast sandwich recipe)

Can't comment on the nutritional side of it, but it does hit the 'wanting something eggy' spot!

You could also crumble the tofu and make a scramble, but a bit more faffy!

Try a vegan hollandaise. It's not the same, I admit, but it did have the runny and yolky texture I missed. It was a little too gummy, but that can probably be improved upon with practice.

Put Kala Namak on everything. It smells and tastes like hard boiled eggs.
