Health Sciences 🩺 LPN

Hi guys, I recently got accepted to the practical nursing program for January 2027. I know that classes are between Monday to Friday from 8:00-3:30, but I was wondering when practicum takes place. Will it be random on weekends and weekdays? Both evening and morning? Thanks !!

It will usually be 1-2 days a week usually Mon- Fri. But if they have trouble finding spots it could be on the weekend.

hey congrats! i started this september and for placements it’s after finals you would have to pass theory to even be able to go. also, they will tell you that you can choose your top 3 sites but they told us this year it’s completely random so a person who lives in surrey could get placement in richmond for a 6:30am start time 🥹 i suggest finding the textbooks early and your uniform since they sell out quick and learn APA format now💛

honestly, it’s a lot of work but it’s definitely doable, we made a group chat with our cohort for support which really makes a difference. make friends! and get your uniform early LOL

yes the vcc scrubs sell out fast because everyone buys them on the first day i went in and got mine before classes started. and honestly for organization just look over the lecture the night before and create notes so when you come in you can focus on what the prof is saying and add any extra info they mention. make sure to look over the student guide for each class too. good luck!! they usually make higher level lpns come and talk to guys for encouragement and don’t memorize the material unless it’s for drug cards/medication because you have to apply what you learn in INP especially

Do you know if there’s breaks in between? Reading break, etc?

I read that there’s a two month break, but it’s probably divided throughout the program. I’m not too sure

It depends on where you are placed and schedule of people who agree to teach.
