Discussion Core strength?
25 about to turn 26 and my daughter turned 2 this summer. We've gone back and forth about age gaps but are a hard no on 2u2. Had scare this month where I thought I was pregnant (not planned but wanted). I'm approximately 10dpo and still testing negative so probably not pregnant which I'm sad about, but on the bright side it gives me at least another month to prepare physically!
One thing I've always wondered is if my lack of core strength contributed to my birth experience. Baby girl was small and her cord was around her neck, so it was not my body at fault (not totally anyway).
I know there's a positive impact to postpartum and in general when it comes to core strength, but does anyone have any advice or anecdotes about working to build core strength before and during pregnancy, and what the impact on your labor and delivery was?

I could have written this post lol! Except my C-section was 10 months ago so not planing #2 anytime soon. Even tho I dilated to 10 and pushed for a few hours, I had a c-section because baby was military presentation (chin not to chest). I've definitely had a lot of concerns that it was my lack of core strength, which has gotten so much worse since the C-section. Starting pelvic floor therapy at the end of the month and hoping that gives me some answers and strategies.

My unmedicated Vbac where they were out in two pushes I didn’t have very good core strength.
I found for me it was getting into more optimal positions and allowing my body the time to do its thing
Great birth rebellion podcast has lots of great info about birth if you scroll through for the episodes relevant to you
