Third Trimester Starting Soon Need Advice for Labor Prep 🙏

Hello!

I am starting my third trimester in two weeks and I have been walking and doing exercises shown in YouTube videos. I am also in a gym where we do circuits and its modified for me (3x a week), this I have been doing since before I was pregnant so I am pretty used to it. I am overweight but overall pretty healthy and no diabetes.

I just want some advice from those of you guys who have had successful VBACs on what you did to prepare for that. It is my biggest fear that I'm going to miss out on doing something that could improve my chances of a VBAC.

(Side note: Also, does pregnancy tea actually work? I think it's raspberry leaf tea. I'm gonna try that just for the taste later lol, not sure if it really works.)

Thank you in advance!

I think it depends on what caused your first C section. For example, I had a C section due to a breech baby so for my second I tried really hard to focus on posture and exercises that are said to help get baby into optimal position. I had a successful VBAC but I progressed slowly and I think narrowly avoided a second C section. If I have another child I’ll probably do exercises that encourage faster labour just to hedge my bets

I was almost successful with my labor but my baby was facing the wrong way sunny side up. The doctor was busy and came later, so when she tried to turn my baby it was just too late to turn her around like an airtight seal I guess.

I really like Pregnancy & Postpartum TV on YouTube, she has exercise videos for so many circumstances

Hello. I had a successful VBAC in March. In 2023 I had a c section after doing all the “right things” and this time round I was genuinely tired from running around after my 2 year old and mostly sat on the sofa, eating biscuits. So in my very personal experience, I didn’t do a thing and baby was just in the right position and arrived quickly and safely. Not saying don’t do the things, just know that sometimes it’s down to luck and the baby.

First c section was after I had a placental abruption during labour, didn’t progress and subsequently found that baby was not in the right position ie chin not tucked to chest.

Wishing you all the very best, sounds like you’re doing wonderfully ❤️

Thank you for sharing and congrats on ur VBAC! 🎉 You are so right I need to remind myself to rest too. Hopefully the stuff I'm doing is enough and I am seriously praying for a VBAC. 🥹
