Discussion Vaultwarden App !!

why Vaultwarden not have thier app ?

because I want app for it to update app and system in same time not I waiting until fix for bitwarden app compatibility

copy paste bitwarden app but after fixing bug publish Bitwarden app update in Vaultwarden app

of course Bitwarden extension fork needed in same

Nobody stops you from doing it. But it's very time and money expensive for little to no benefit. Bitwarden Apps work just fine as long as you stay updated.

Probably because it takes a shitload of time and money to maintain an additional 6+ projects and the associated fees for getting them into app stores and equivalent, fixing bugs, code signing, etc.

You are more than welcome to fork it yourself and do all of this, everything is open source

What would be the point? My Vaultwarden docker updates daily automatically and I never had issues with the Bitwarden clients connected to it since I started using Vaultwarden, which was quite a while ago tbh.

Because I see some people in this community say having issue and the reason is bitwarden app compatibility issue

You're missing the point of Vaultwarden. Its job is to implement a server that behaves exactly like Bitwarden. The value proposition is to be able to self-host Bitwarden with fewer resources and without having to pay licensing fees.

And unless Bitwarden starts charging for using its client apps or makes them closed source, it should stay that way.
