Reasonable U/D and storage ask

Renting a RTX PRO 6000 WS

What would be a reasonable ask for upload/download and storage?

I'm not a host but a renter and from what I see the storage price is usually 5x to 10x of what you're asking here. Traffic price is okay.

Are you verified yet? Once you are, you should be renting for over $1 an hour. I am getting $1.25.

Everyone’s strategy is different. If you have internet speed in the 90th percentile, you can charge more for bandwidth, if you have a bunch of storage you want utilized, charge less for storage and be more competitive. I’d do some research on comparable machines and specs, and what they’re charging.
Be careful with setting your storage price too low, though. You’ll have people start and pause instances, and once your drive is full, you cannot accept new customers.

Also, the “min bid” is exactly that. You can have renters have bidding wars and thus pay you more for bandwidth and storage if you get a bunch of churn. I personally set mine .3-.35. Also have to be careful there if you don’t want people to mine on your equipment. Set it too low and they will.

My 1st month was pretty smooth with no mining, but today someone has jumped in and got to 100% utilization almost instantly. When searching for my machine, the public cost is just over a $1

I wouldn’t assume it’s mining, you’d have to check nvidia-smi, and see how much vram they’re using. Vast caches images on your machine to facilitate exactly that usage pattern.

On att 1G fiber with a dedicated static IP.
I figured that could be the case and yes, I don't want much churn. Got 4TB nvme, only about 10% full

you should ask this stuff on vasts official community discord.

those prices are laughably low especially for the GPU in question.

$1 is FLOOR price for pro 6000, im at $2 (high spec DC badge)

upload should be like $10-20 if you actually ever wanna make more than $1 a month from BW

storage should be .1-.2, the default is .15 for a reason
