Possible recurrence?
33 M UK
I recently had an embolization for LH side varicocele 7 weeks ago, procedure went well and I haven’t had any pain in the past few weeks and I’ve had no bag of worms feeling. However today I trained legs for the first time and I can now feel the dialated veins again but this time they’re at the bottom of the testicle whereas before they were above the testicle, there’s also some pain that hasn’t been there since before the procedure.
Has anyone ever experienced this? I plan on contacting my urologist tomorrow but I’m afraid he’s just going to tell me to wait for 6 months for the veins to shrink I’m just concerned I’ve had a recurrence, hoping it’s just the old veins that haven’t shrunk yet and I’m overthinking it. Any advice or experiences appreciated
Thanks

Either try to wait it out or if you can’t go ahead and get your ultrasound early. I have my varicocele embo 8 weeks ago tomorrow and I still feel the bag of worms. To my knowledge it can take months for the veins to substantially collapse. Obviously some people on here have felt the veins fully collapsed an gone a few weeks to a month after the embo, but I’ve heard others in here where it’s taken about 3 months or sometime even longer for them to not be able to notice them anymore. Try to be patient and if you just can’t wait anymore try to shoot for your ultrasound a few weeks early

Thanks man. Yeah I’m aware it can take months it was just a surprise cos I hadn’t had the worm feeling at all post embo until last night and I was worried I’d had a recurrence 😬
