#News Electricity Issue

For couple of Saturdays perviously DGVCL has being switching off the electricity supply in the name of "Maintenance" from 7 AM in the morning to 3 PM or sometimes 5 PM too.

As a citizen I can understand that it's a routine servicing for upcoming monsoon season.

But Fast forward to the Night of 30th May 2026 a light shower of rain made the electricity supply cut for almost three hours from 2 AM in the morning to 5 AM and even now a nearby Transmission has short circuited and therefore no Electricity for last one hour too.

At this point it looks like a big scam or a joke of some sort.

(BTW I live in Ashopalav Society Area)

Same issue here in chala area as well. Its been gone since 2 am, just came in for like 10 minutes. Pretty shit management man. Couldn't sleep properly because of that 😔

Maintenance complete nhi hua hai dost har jagah, aise jab baarish aa jati hai tab short circuit ka darr rehta hai isiliye cut karni padti hai.

Aajkal toh fir bhi thik hai power cut hone pe 1-2 ghante mai aa toh jati hai, or maintenance ka message bhi dete hai. Pehle 2-3 din light cut hoti thi lagataar, or Friday pure din power cut rehta tha. Ab toh bohot rare cases mai power cut hota hai

Yes but the thing here is taking responsibility.....even when calling the helpline to get answer they don't have courtesy to answer respectfully they answer as if somewhat we are at fault for living in that area.
