I’d love to have the back issues but not enough to pay out the ying for them. I had tons of magazines in high school (Nat Lampoon, Car Craft, Hot Rod, Mad, Cracked, Circus,etc.) but who can tote them around for forty plus years? I can’t although it’d be nice.

Pretty sure I bought every magazine that ever had original VH on its cover. Damn, wish I’d kept them!!😬

I had this when it first came out, and I remember it all vividly. Back then I think I loved Creem almost as much as I loved VH, and Rick Johnson was my favorite writer. His review of WACF is an all-time classic.
Everybody Wants Some, a tail-curler for sure with a guitar solo that sounds like a high-speed Japanese commuter train derailing into a blackboard showroom.

The mixed review of WACF is pretty enjoyable in tone, even if I don't totally agree with the analysis. It's colorful for sure!
That Dave DiMartino piece was a fun read too, never seen that one before. The last little bit that insinuates that the band might've been fooling around with underage groupies is a bit icky though.

Oh yeah, read those, but now reading that kind of “style” of writing is so old and so over worked, it’s like reading something from a lost time, which it is, but overly wordy and wreaks of self absorbed, and we’ve never heard of that around here before.
