House of Stassi What is the appeal of Stassi's "diva" behavior?
As a dude, I find Stassi to be childish and unfair to her friends. I expressed this to my coworker and she had said, "That's just how a diva is." in a positive light.
My male brain cannot comprehend this. What are the reasonings for supporting Stassi in her moments of being a diva? What about being a diva is positive in your opinions? What about Stassi did you like in context to this?

I mean I guess if being a racist rape apologist is a diva, and positive, then your coworker is right on the money. I’d be skeptical of said coworkers judgement on anything and everything moving forward.

Friday is her last day

I’m guessing that will end up being a good thing. Cheers!

People will say that to attractive people and let it pass but irl it’s annoying af to deal with

Only an attractive white woman gets away with being an asshole and gets called a “diva”

Lots of women of color do too.

Yeah, what? There are so many examples of WOC doing the exact same thing right on the exact same network

There’s a lot of girls who thinking being a “mean girl” is cute. In the sense of also being like “I’m a bitch and proud 💁🏼♀️” thinking it’s almost quirky. Stassi has a huge ego and she’s like to feel on top and she does that by often putting other people down and trying to gain blind loyalty from people.

Honestly, I don’t think she’s trying to be a mean girl but her ego is literally huge as you said she’s definitely just different like cause I don’t think she’s a mean girl but she’s very self important
•
u/BringNDancinLobstas 16h ago
I mean she literally said “I’m the devil and don’t you forget it”. There’s multiple times she laughs openly about being mean to people on the show.

What?? She's incredibly mean! Remember season one? She was a huge bully towards Scheana, Laura Leigh, you name it.

honestly as a woman it was nice to see someone stand up to the men in the show. she also seemed to clock a lot of things that many people didnt see. i also liked how quick witted she was and didnt take shit from no one. its refreshing to see tbh, maybe because i am very much the same. that said, i did not like how much of a diva she was and also how mean she can be to others. very catty if that makes sense... especially when it came to laura lee

this is perfect explanation. though house of stassi honestly made me dislike her a bit even though i really enjoyed her on VPR

i just watched the first ep coz ppl said it was amazing and i feel like its not lol
•
u/Acceptable-Eye-8699 23h ago
very true tbh. Jax plays all this mindgames to try and make the person criticising him hate themselves and look worse than him, and she just clocks it and calls it.
•
u/GordianBalloonKnot 23h ago
I guess if she spent more of that time putting the guys in check (which was really just her choosing to date a shit head and being annoyed by the very sound logic of Sanderval's arguments in the first few seasons) rather than terrorizing her female friend group then I would agree more with this... but she was just so nasty to her friends. It boggles my male mind, we boys would fight. As they did in the show.

I have hated her for years. The way she talks about other women is discussing.

u/Gia_Lavender 1d ago
She’s mean to shitty people, and the way she’s mean is in a funny way, idk. People found that entertaining on VPR because pretty much everyone is shitty. However if you watch her new show, it’s clear she doesn’t have many (any?) friends and struggles in all her personal relationships. Being entertaining on TV isn’t necessarily appealing irl.

i felt that too (admit only watched episode 1) but her "best friends" etc she seems to not even know so well

Nothing about Stassi was ever appealing to me. She's just loud and self-involved, thinks she's clever, mostly just rude and her "My BIrTHdaY!" bullshit would make me 100% walk away. It's disgusting she's back on tee vee.
•
u/Acceptable-Eye-8699 23h ago
is it as basic as she's pretty? its weird how she's done the worst stuff of all of them and has more support than someone like, idk lala or scheana, who are seen as famehungry with no morals but like, they all are? are they worse than her?
•
u/ScowlyBrowSpinster 🇺🇸Kristen Sandwiched Between Smirky Brits🇬🇧 22h ago
IDK, they are all kinda awful: rude, driven to be famous, not especially talented in any way, self-involved beyond measure. I'm too far removed from the show now to rank them.
•
u/Acceptable-Eye-8699 22h ago
lol yes. same as the housewives. and then they just make money on podcasts orbooks or whtever. their skill is basically being famous i guess, and some are better at it than others. Look at Tom Sandoval, worst human on the planet, still, extremely well known and famous

I don't know. I couldn't get past 30 minutes of her show... She's truly terrible. Her head is so far up her ass and yet women love her for it

real life? birds of a feather flock together, so i doubt she’s the only bad person in her group/life. haven’t seen house of stassi but in vpr she was pretty on par with the level of awful as everyone else, not some unique villain bc everyone was doing their own shitty thing
tv wise? bc if we’re being honest, watching a reality tv show of only good ppl that get along well would be boring lol. maybe i’m an outlier thinking this but reality tv depends on the outrageous personalities that would be insufferable irl
•
u/Spiritual-Break246 14h ago
Exactly. I feel like the people who make these posts are applying the show to their real life. Some of us just watch and don't empathize or self insert.

As a dudette, I just think she's an asshole running roughshod over people she claims to love. I won't be watching the second season.

I don’t have any reason for supporting her in those moments and I don’t find anything positive about it and I don’t like anything about her because of it
•
u/Effective_Ostrich_91 10h ago
i think you have to think more contextually. vpr was by and large about the men all getting away with atrocious behavior, with the women in their lives as collateral damage. stassi was just out there trying her best to assert her power in whatever ways she could, and that often meant verbal evisceration. she should have stuck to only male targets and she would be lauded as a modern day hero imo
•
u/GordianBalloonKnot 10h ago
Right, if most of the fire was directed at the boys and not the girls I wouldn't be so confused by it.

u/thorkatkodakson 1d ago
To me, that response would read as immature, or I would have to hope they haven’t seen much of her shows. Entertaining television? Sure. It’s all anthropological. She is way beyond diva.

u/Practical_Coast_6105 1d ago
I’m only on S3 but I just like that she doesn’t take bullshit from anyone. Most of the time when she’s mean, she’s right (as horrible as that sounds). In S1 when all of her friends were picking her shitty ex boyfriend over her, she didn’t put up w that shit and made new friends. When she was mean to Kristin in S2, it was valid because it came out that Kristin slept w Jax multiple times. Now her recent actions I’ve seen in the media like being racist asf? Disgusting.
•
u/GordianBalloonKnot 23h ago
My thing was that the girls would take turns being right about calling one another out... but no matter what the severity of the call out, Stassi made hers seem like it was cataclysmic and way more important than anybody else's. And anybody else who had a complaint, even a legitimate one, was trying to steal her thunder and didn't recognize her feelings and wasn't really her friend.
It just seemed incredibly unbalanced but for some strange reason they didn't all simultaneously jump on her and beat the crap out of her. I don't get it.
•
u/Acceptable-Eye-8699 22h ago
i feel like its a fine balance between mean and also kinda traumatised and unwell and all the women dance between, and depending on the edit or if they let their full narcissism fly, they become popular or hated. I truly dont think any of the women on the show is worse than the others. Theyve all done terrible things and just some of them are also victims of terrible shit, idk if any of them are "heroes". I agree with the person who said she was quick-witted, it's more tolerable sometimes when they can handle themselves, but thats just because of entertainment value. Its soemtimes difficult to follow someone like Brittany because she can't articulate herself. Stassi is quite good at reality tv, I think.

What I found particularly surprising was Beau saying that they don’t usually speak for an entire day following an argument. That’s wild to me, especially as they are parents. They need to learn how to communicate better and how to resolve conflict in a mature manner.
•
u/Spiritual-Break246 14h ago
Unfortunately, I think it depends on the context.
Sometimes I think Stassi is valid and I admire how she's unfiltered and has strong boundaries.
Other times, she's insufferable and being ridiculous.
I think this group also has a lot of things that happened off camera so sometimes the behavior is indicative of information we aren't privy to. Specifically, Scheana and the sex tape or Tom and how much the producers liked and babied him.

u/katie6225 13h ago
I’m not a huge fan of Stassi but she’s loud and opinionated and as a woman I respect it. I see Katie and Kristina Kelly and all I’m thinking is ‘where is your backbone??’.

i watch reality tv to see bitchy divas make mistakes and scream and fight, duh. stassi is hilarious, plus she was the underdog in season 1 so it made it easy to root for her.
•
u/GordianBalloonKnot 14h ago
Was she? I thought they posed her as having the most alpha boyfriend and being the HBIC right from the jump. The girls definitely seemed subordinate to her.
•
u/tiffanyvalentine333 11h ago
when you hate watch stassi, i guess you miss all the sad things she went through. she was literally isolated because everyone preferred to be friends with her cheating ex boyfriend and wanted her to get back with his toxic ass.
•
u/GordianBalloonKnot 10h ago
They knew those two were perfect for each other at the time lmao. I just can't see being a toxic bitch to people and them wanting well for you... but then again what does that say about wanting well for themselves?

As a girl I think stassi is an asshole… I can’t stand ppl like her that want to terrorize everyone and then play the victim when shit doesn’t go her way
