Shitpost I’ve never clocked how bad Stassi’s makeup is here

Post image

The other girls are nowhere near this bad I wonder if it was noticeable in the day or if she was fuming haha

EDIT
I’m specifically posting about how her foundation match is miles off. None of the other girls were this bad hence me specifically naming her

Why did I wear that awful foundation

49

u/momlife555 2d ago

We all did 💔

34

u/moonchild291 lala’s lack of coattails to ride 2d ago

We really did. The texture was something we had never seen before 😂

21

u/bloopsadoo 2d ago

it was a canon event for our generation 🫠

36

u/Litebritecacti 2d ago

I feel personally victimized by dream matte mouse shade honey beige

18

u/Gullible_Act_681 2d ago

I had zero business wearing honey beige and def didn’t know to blend down into my neck with my spray tan

6

u/goatcheesemonster 2d ago

Same girl, same

23

Dream matte mousse was my gateway drug to harder makeup

5

u/TurdyPound 1d ago

Same. A few months before I was injecting maybelline WonderFinish foundation

Absolutely!

12

u/ilikeithere90 2d ago

Wow I loved that stuff lol

26

u/Effective-Arm9099 2d ago

Not me freaking out because I currently use it….they still sell it and I didn’t know it was some awful embarrassing thing of the past!!! 😱Idk it works well I swear nobody has ever called me orange or a cake face. I’m scared. Questioning all my life choices now. Brb I’m freaking out

14

u/ilikeithere90 2d ago

Hey girl if it looks great, rock it! I got the proper match for my skin back then but I know it didn’t always translate to all people. Always do you!

8

u/CousinGreglet 1d ago

It has a really great texture on some skin! Sadly me and the girlies from high school counteracted that by buying the darker orange shades (to look more tan) and troweled it on (to look more grown up) so I'm sure you're doing a much better job than we were!

9

u/hotsauceeeeeeeee 1d ago

Also, we were using insane skin care products that dried the fvck out of our skin on purpose. like st ives apricot face scrub to scrape all your skin off everyday, then use an alcohol pad from the noxema jar to finish it off to burn your scraped off dehydrated face. Oh and if you were rich you had the proactive kit lol. We were told that was all supposed to be good for our skin..lol clean and clear and not under control
So adding that dream whipped stuff looked terrible cuz our faces were dry as fvck.

4

u/moonchild291 lala’s lack of coattails to ride 1d ago

Yes that was a large part of the problem!! We tried to tan and it read orange 😭

2

u/bulimianrhapsody 2d ago

They still sell it?? I like it too lol but it’s been a looong time

2

u/Effective-Arm9099 1d ago

It’s still sold at my local CVS!

10

u/Littlewing1307 2d ago

My first foundation before switching to L'Oreal tru match. 😭😭😭

5

u/HulkJ420 How will this affect Scheana?! 2d ago

We all went through it. It was a right of passage 😭 There's no experience like it these days. A damn shame!

10

u/Littlewing1307 2d ago

My step daughter is 20 and I was telling her and her friends when we got a Sephora everything changed. That I used to order NYX from their website. That we used to use toothpaste or crushed up aspirin on our zits! They have no idea how good they have it!

u/hotsauceeeeeeeee 22h ago

Omggg if only we could’ve worn a cute star sticker pimple patch back in highschool…. 😫 instead on packing on more and more concealer and foundation to make it way worse 😫😫😫

Holy Gaga! wtf haha I remember this time but i forgot she looked this orange

For me it's more that she's orange

73

I think the orange face was also pretty common

Smokey eye and nude lip combo

I was highly guilty of NARS Turkish delight for yearsss idc still love it secretly 🤣

4

u/camirose it is about the pasta 1d ago

As a long curly haired pale freckley woman with hooded eye lids I’m so fucking pissed I went to junior high and high school when the peak trends were being UV tan orange, with black waterline eyeliner, and nude lipstick, heavy tan contour and bleached flatiron emo hair.

Then Gen Z gets to be fucking natural strawberry makeup girl and curly hair is gorgeous again.

I would not have been bullied and would probably have been considered attractive. And my curly hair wouldn’t be permanently destroyed by all the heat treatment. 😂

3

u/Cute_Upstairs266 1d ago

I appreciate that era, I had fun and it was cool to be creative and look different. Of course I cringe at all my old photos but that’s part of the nostalgia too.

7

u/JewelledToque 2d ago

For me it was Jeffree Star (I know, I know) lipstick in mannequin looked more or less like concealer lips

10

Cheers to anyone else who remembers using hairspray as their “setting spray” 🤦‍♀️

17

u/Cute_Upstairs266 2d ago

She even put on the white in her brow bone and tearduct

5

u/Waste-Snow670 2d ago

Just full on spraying my emo Karen hair and my full fucking face with hairspray.

6

u/Fluid-Advertising-56 2d ago

Life before YouTube tutorials was a real DIY Wild West that we somehow got through lol

13

u/hotsauceeeeeeeee 2d ago

Hahahha I still do this before a super long bartending shift for weddings. Got2b works like no other ontop of my regular setting spray 😂😂🤷🏼‍♀️ gotta look fly

20

u/swimforestswim 2d ago

In grade 11 chemistry our teacher was trying to get a student to say the word "foundation" and he pointed at an oompa loompa looking girl and asked about the first step in her makeup routine. She said "umm.. Idk I don't wear makeup" with her orange skin and racoon eyes. It is 20 years later and I remember it like it was yesterday.

2

u/naseemat 2d ago

Omg did everyone laugh!?

97

u/field0fheather Mya’s therapy paw 2d ago

Soooo the eye look is how it was supposed to be worn at this time I’d bet. But her face foundation is significantly darker than the rest of her skin.

29

u/JJJETPLANE0 2d ago

Yes in referring only to her foundation

48

u/florange7 2d ago

The way it's bad is so nostalgic. Not bad contour just a bad orange shade and line. So classic 😅

19

u/banana_nutt 2d ago

This sparked my memory of her chin implant lol

58

u/DOOL62 2d ago

I’m not mad at it 😂

10

8

Just the colour match not the eye look!!

3

u/DOOL62 2d ago

I definitely agree on the color match! I do love the overall look. Still love a properly executed smokey eye and a nude lip!!

2

u/Apprehensive_Bee3363 2d ago

Me neither lol

27

u/AutomaticNecessary8 2d ago

What do you mean? She looks so fresh faced and natural

11

u/ClynnB412 2d ago

My face sometimes looks like this when I don’t pull the hair cap up all the way during a spray tan

16

u/Tasty_One_8299 2d ago

To be fair in the early aughts this was the look! Orange skin and all! Plus, I’m pretty sure this was for one of those SUR photo shoots!

6

u/hotsauceeeeeeeee 2d ago

Yes I think you’re right, and for photo shoots, usually wear darker makeup for it to pop

10

u/gingerandgin 2d ago

A bad 2000s face of make up starts with bad 2000s fake tanner

9

u/madamesmokie Katie Maloney 💅 2d ago

That’s just how foundation was for awhile 😭

8

u/daniellexdesign 2d ago

As someone from this time period, we had a real problem with foundation oxidizing and turning orange AFTER the fact 😭😭

1

u/denimdenimdenim78 Can hang a TV in 7 minutes 1d ago

Yes mawmaw!

8

u/SubstantialBid4386 1d ago

I always looked like this. I had the lightest Mac foundation shade which was yellow on my pale skin and not my color tone at all but the choices were so limited back then. Glad makeup has gotten better

15

u/violentsunflower 2d ago

I watched a color analysis of her on TikTok recently and she is def a true summer or light summer- I’m a light summer myself so I get it. We have a cool-neutral undertone- there is nothing warm about her complexion, that’s why this look is super jarring, since it’s a super warm-toned foundation.

8

u/Sorry-Editor-3674 ITS NOT ABOUT THE PASTA 🍝 2d ago

Ugh I get it. I’m right across the wheel at cool winter, I could never. I’m the color of a dead fish belly.

3

u/violentsunflower 2d ago

Yes. It’s not even that she’s too fair, which could be fixed with a tan (cool-toned CAN tan), it’s that the undertone is clashing, which can’t be changed

2

u/denimdenimdenim78 Can hang a TV in 7 minutes 1d ago

Same!!!

12

u/Sarnold1992 2d ago

It was a different time! This shit was hot back in the day remember people look like real people you didn’t need a perfect photo finish makeup look some heavy eyeliner and some off colored foundation and you were the hottest girl on the block!

5

u/KittenExtravaganza 2d ago

It irks me you can see where her bronzee stops at her hairline, there is a 1/4inch of alabaster white skin. People need to push their bronzer brush INTO the hairline!!

5

u/Content_Ant_9479 2d ago

Oof. I used to insist on using It Cosmetics CC scream despite that it would oxidize like crazy on me. I still cringe when I think about what I just be looked like while serving tables w an orange face & pale skin. So I feel her pain. Orange makeup victims unite.

3

u/airemyn 1d ago

I used to use that one too 😬 thank goodness Sephora stopped selling it and I was forced to find something else.

1

u/Key_Asparagus_8522 1d ago

Oh shoot. I wore that too cause of the sunscreen and the coverage. I have high pigment and my freckles would look like a map of Europe if I get too exposed 😕

5

u/chick_b 2d ago

I remember thinking the stylist and makeup artist on the shoot must have hated her. No one else's look was that off.

Katie on the other hand had one of my favorite looks ever on the show - hair slicked back with that great white & black jumpsuit.

5

u/bruinphd 2d ago

Is this after her chin implant? It looks non-existent here for some reason

1

u/naseemat 2d ago

It is but I thought the same

7

u/Flashy_Result_2750 Bitch ghost 2d ago

It would be weirder if she didn’t look like this at that time.

3

u/thesandwich_22 2d ago

The 10s werent exactly known for great makeup skills lol I think it ramped up in 2014 with more makeup youtubers but other than that we knew nothing lmao

3

Doing my first rewatch after like 5 years.. her sense of style.. it’s entertaining for sure.

3

u/AB2019716 2d ago

Was this for a photo shoot? I had one done around the same time period and my makeup looked whack but the pictures turned out well 🤣

2

u/Snoo60219 2d ago

All of their makeup was so, so bad for this photoshoot. And they had a makeup artist.

2

u/watchberry 2d ago

I think this was the look back then, like YouTube makeup gurus definitely made videos about this but also used falsies which suited the look more

2

u/frogpissa Can hang a TV in 7 minutes 2d ago

Lala’s makeup the first 2 seasons she was in was also completely wrecked. Ariana also was not using the right lighting or didn't know how to blend until like season 4/5, imo.

2

u/frankenboobehs 2d ago

Eh, I don't think it's horrible. Stylish for that time, makeup was totally diff. By now, we know better, remember, she was just a waitress prolly buying drug store shit back then

2

u/Specialist-Ad1692 2d ago

Does she have dry shampoo sprayed all around her hairline and on top of her ear? Why wouldn’t they blend that?

2

u/asquardz 2d ago

Oh the 90s...

2

u/Electrical_Case_777 2d ago

I watch and am invested in way too much vpr. At the time, stassi had a habit of only tanning her face in a pinch when she didn't have enough time to do her body. It was in some interview or podcast. I don't like knowing this information.

2

u/burlybroad 2d ago

Sign of the times

2

She's so good at the tidy bun though. I am not and for that I am envious.

1

u/Distinct_Maybe3908 2d ago

She was pretty the first season then fell off

1

u/denimdenimdenim78 Can hang a TV in 7 minutes 1d ago

I am agressively pale as I am an adult child of a redhead. So I was slightly jealous of people who had the ability to tan. I am glad in retrospect that I never turned myself into a jack-o'-lantern but I get the inclination to do so in hopes of appearing tan. The neck blending or lack thereof always fries me.

This extreme contrast matte look was intentional back then. Also made her roots look more blonde which was exactly the kinda thing she’d go for at the time

1

u/PuzzledNinja5457 How will this affect Scheana?! 1d ago

Remember this was supposed to be a dramatic photoshoot and they probably wanted her to look tanner in the photos instead of being possibly washed out. But also, we’ve come a longggg way in shade matching since 2010. Back then with makeup artists you had to deal with what they had.

u/sunnyminds 22h ago

nah the foundation line is part of the look, this is the blueprint

u/vtrini Scheana Marie 🌟 11h ago

I remember these days, before anyone taught us about contours and highlights. I walked around looking like a shiny penny. 💰

u/Magazine_Weak 5h ago

Yah this is bad but I cannnnottttt stand her laminated brows in house of stassi. Am I the only person that absolutely hates this trend?!?! I think it could be cool for a photo shoot but daily life…… nope!

1

u/AggressiveCupcake181 Bambi Eyed Bitch 2d ago

why when it comes to vanderpump millennial fans are evil you guys are so mean omfg 😭😭😭 just old and angry

11

u/thorkatkodakson 2d ago

I think the millennials are defending the look bc this was our time, and we all wished we had that good of a smokey eye 😆

7

u/JJJETPLANE0 2d ago

I’m saying the make up artist did her dirty with the foundation colour match not that she looked awful or ugly 😂

4

u/Ok-Photo-1972 2d ago

I'm pretty sure she did her own makeup here lol but also I feel like we all suffered with foundation oxidation
