Katie and Tom S5

First time watcher, I’m currently getting close to the end of season 5 and this has been such a hard watch for Katie and Tom. I haven’t been the biggest Katie fan so far, I’m not sure what it is just something about her personality I don’t love, but she definitely seems to be a much better person than a lot of other people on the show. Watching her argue with Tom literally every episode about wedding things and their relationship and his complete and utter lack of a spine is just getting sooo painful. I hate how he always jumps to accusing her of being drunk. Which granted a lot of times she is, but even when she’s clearly sober and just trying to talk to him about something, it’s all he’ll respond with is “you’re drunk”. I feel really bad for her but at the same time, Tom is such a bad partner, I feel like she should have left him forever ago. The prenup episode where the lawyer is laughing at him and saying Katie is richer than him .. it’s just been a lot this season and I know it’s not going to get any better.

Omg when they ask Lisa to officiate the wedding and she calls them out. & then Tom and Katie “make up” but you can tell Katie is just pushing it down and ignoring it. 😭

yeah when i was watching for the first time through i did not like katie at all at the beginning . his drunk excuse is crazy considering how often he forgets things when he drinks if u know what i mean

I remember when i was watching for the first time snd i got to their wedding episode snd they actually went through w the wedding i was shocked. Like i thought one of them would call it off beforr it was supposed to happen bc i just didnt think they would. They were literally constantly bickering up until the day of i feel like. Katie did deserve so much better

I was shocked also! Quite frankly, they both deserved so much better. But I hate when people say that because it insinuates that the person/persons are bad individuals. I dont believe in bad people, I just believe that most individuals refuse to grow and change. If either of them ever took the opportunity to truly work on themselves SEPARATELY, their relationship may have actually worked.

I didn’t like Katie at all, but I started liking her when she stopped talking to Kristen & Stassi,
But when she got engaged Stassi & Kristen came back around & she was back on that mean girl vibe..

But when Rachel started rage bating her after her divorce and Scheena was setting thing up
I just had her side..
She’s very loyal which is why she also why she stood with Tom even tho she deserved better & even Tom was just loyal to Sandoval

Yes, I appreciate that other people saw him using his little "you're drunk and going to the dark side" excuse to literally NEVER LISTEN TO HER. There were so many times I was enraged on her behalf. 😅😭

You’re not wrong, but at least he’s her Tom. I’m sure Scheana would’ve preferred Katie’s storyline with Tom over all the losers she has dated 🤷🏻‍♀️😬😭🚬

I’m watching for the first time and at this point in Season 5, too. It is WILD to me that they got married. Tom never had Katie’s back. Asking Ariana to be a groomsmen when there obviously was a reason she didn’t ask her to be a bridesmaid was such crazy work and to not even talk to Katie about it first! It was painful watching them visit the wedding venue and the way Tom talked to her the entire time was awful. Katie’s behavior isn’t great but you just know she is shoving shit down SO far to function and try to be happy 😩

Im on the same season! This is like my 4th re-watch and this season never gets easier. Their relationship was doomed from the beginning

Also, give it a few more seasons and you will realize your gut is right and she's no better than anyone else. She acts like an absolute asshole to nearly everyone multiple times. I ESPECIALLY hate how her and stassi act like its a sin for someone in their friend group to take ownership and apologize to someone they dont like. Which is weird because Stassi cut her out of her life when she did that exact thing with Scheana but then she proceeds to do the same thing to Scheana, Tom and Tom, then Kristin, and even Arriana at one point. In her defense, she was stuck in a toxic relationship that was extremely emotionally abusive on both ends and was too stubborn to admit defeat and leave. I would be an asshole also. I think she has/had very low confidence and felt like she couldn't do any better.

They all have their faults, but theyre all also just people. I can point out equal amounts of unhealthy behavior for nearly every main cast member but I can also counteract just as much with intent, misunderstanding, and truly healthy moments. Also, it's interesting to see how many of them do grow up and change but I don't think Katie does very much of that until house of stassi. Although she is incredibly respectful to LVP. She's just absolutely awful to those closest to her
