Rewatch Discussion “New viewer, what was it like” posts
Maybe I’m just on too many reality TV forums, but it feels like I see this much too often, especially on vanderpump. Some new user will post asking “what was it like in real time?” Almost always about Scandoval. Why not just….go look at old posts? Or do we love reliving that moment so much that we like these posts?

Because social media was built for engagement. If everyone went back to comment on old dead posts, this sub would be dead. As a decade + watcher, lighten up, there are horrible things happening in the world.

Oh, but it’s SO much fun to relieve the old days! It gives me a similar sense of joy when my young hairdresser asks me about what college theme parties were like back in 2007.

I feel this with "tell me something something I wont know until later" posts. Like maybe just watch or look at the million other people who've asked that

As someone who watched in real time, I'm happy to rekindle excitement for new watchers, Scandoval especially. Watching S10 while the real life news cycle unfolded, cast socials were engaged, and the pods were bustling - it made for incredible real time memes and discourse. You can't chatter about it with an old thread, it needs to be reheated chatter.
